So gravity decided to push over my chocolate milk and spill it entirely on my laptop...

And half of the keys do not work at all so I had to do this...

That sucks dude ;-; Maybe you could try to clean out the milk and replace the pieces underneath the keys to fix them? It worked for me and if you do try that you could PM me so I could help you but for now let us mourn at the loss of this laptop "R.I.P"

Oh, dear!
That must be absolutely awful!
I wish you luck in repairing it or getting a new computer- that's seriously a bummer.

WAIT. All is not lost yet, I'm a qualified repair technician (Seriously, PM me if you need proof). All is not lost just yet. There a few steps you can take from here to save your laptop. Most manufacturers include holes that pass through the keyboard and out the bottom of the device to avoid damage to the more important parts of the computer (RAM, HDD, CPU, motherboard, ect...) but for the love of god do NOT turn the computer upside down to drain the milk. If you havn't already, power it off and remove the battery/charger and dry up what you can see on the outside with a paper towel and put something between your desk and the computer overnight or at least for a few hours.

If you want to repair/replace the damaged parts (which only looks like the keyboard), look on Ebay or Amazon for a replacement keyboard  that will fit your computer. You can do this by searching the model number of your computer which is normally found on the bottom of the device followed by "replacement keyboard" or similar.

After that, you have 2 options:

1:
Most if not all computer stores that aren't run by a mega corporation would be willing to take off some of the price of replacing the keyboard if you provide your own replacement parts but I can't really say to much about your area unfortunately. Its a small price to pay in comparison to replacing the entire computer.

or 2:
Attempt to replace it yourself. As scary as it may seem, its normally not hard to replace a keyboard on a laptop. On most brands and models of laptops you can pop off the upper region above the keyboard with a screwdriver letting you unscrew the keyboard and replace it. Just look up on Google/YouTube the model of your laptop followed by "keyboard replacement tutorial" and you should find something.

Other than that, good luck with getting it fixed. :D

And.. This is yet another example why I do not like laptops. >.>
I break them too easily.
I've spilled liquid in so many of my keyboards that it's not even funny.
-Gently strokes her G19s- Nobody's gonna touch you, baby.. You'll be fine..

Either way, I hope you get it fixed soon.
I know what a pain in the behind it is, not being able to get online 'cause of technical issues.

Best of luck,
Ressy.

One of the reasons why I'll probably never go back to having a laptop. I built myself a custom desktop about 10 months ago and don't regret a thing. Plus most my my friends are super nerds and take their desktops to each other's places when we host lan parties and stuff.

Omg, yes.
I've brought my desktop PC 13,5 Swedish miles, on a bus.
Did the same but on a car when I went to the LAN at the same place.
But that was 16,5 miles. x'D

Custom build one. Pre built computers are like macs. No offense mac users but they add on 1.2 - 1.5x of the price of the computer parts. You're better off picking the parts yourself or asking places like http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme (http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme) for help picking parts since then you have more control in what exactly you want your machine to do.

I have this cheap Acer laptop that works like trash when it's running games like I want it to be. At least I have my own computer though. I hated getting kicked off for the whole day by my brother for years, I only had the early morning/late night and when I'm lucky when he gets off of it during the day. I couldn't get back on because he will not listen to me and when I refused to get off he will throw a fit like a spoiled brat. So this laptop is all I got right now. My brother now has a big gaming computer that runs perfectly and I'm stuck with this stupid machine that broke it's own hard drive once. I only had it for almost 2 years now and I'm pretty sure I know how to basically take care of it.

About spilling liquids on the keyboard, I once spilled Faygo rootbeer on the place around the c key and now the key is hard to press.
