In the new version of FeralHeart (June 9th, 2016) if the player clicks 'Creative Den', there is a button with two dots that also prompts the Coming Soon! response. If the "Movie Maker" was implemented, what do you think it would allow us to do? Would you start making videos?

I too have wondered about the movie maker tool, though I do not think we can really assume much about what it was going to be, maybe it could be something you can put on youtube, or maybe something else?
While Kovu is not here to show us what it might have become, we can atleast imagine what it could have been like.
I would like to believe it could be something where you can combine the all of the other 'makers' and use to create a movie, y'know, selecting a map, a weather, placing down objects, and then even characters, which you can set to do an action a certain time.
Just brainstorming there x3 Well anyway, while we may never know what that button could of held, due to Kovu's absence, we may, at least, dream.

It would of been great to have the "Movie Maker" finished if Fh were ever updated. I have alwaya wondered what the "Movie Maker" was.
If the "Movie Maker" tool was finished, I would definitely play with it, record some gameplay, but I wouldn't make youtube videos because I'm not allowed to. //parental reasons
I would love to have the actions, effects, text, and all that. Maybe even add some new things to the "Movie Maker" if people started making new actions, effects, etc. for the "Movie Maker" tool & were downloadable.
But even though FH will probably never be updated again (then again it just might! all we need to keep is hope.) Yes, we could always dream of how the "Movie Maker" would be.
If it were ever a finished I bet a whole lot of people would appreciate it!

I imagine it like the in-game movie maker, but with more advanced features... but I think what Scarlet said would make a bit more sense, and would be easier to use.

Since I was stalking around in the files I did read what the captions might be in the WIP Movie Maker, and by that my guess is that there is a timeline of stuff, and that you can choose the map, and then choose, create, and edit characters to add in.
But, for now we basically have to only guess and hope, since as said before Feralheart may or may not ever be updated again.

I think that it would let you record a scene like in the in-game version but with more options, and it would let you set your scenes out in a scene timeline like on sky maker. Then it would allow you to export into your media folder and then you can do whatever you want with all the scenes put together.

I know I would use it!
I was always curious as to what that tool was going to be, but I have been wishing to make YouTube videos of Feral Heart for a long time. I would hope that the tool would be finished. If I were to make YouTube videos of Feral Heart it would either be music videos or videos of all the funny things me and friends do online.

I want to be able to use the Movie Maker. Do you have to download it? Or is it just FH update?
:'(

Nobody can use the movie maker, as it is unfinished. Because Kovu, the creator of FeralHeart, has left, and taken the source code with him, we may only speculate what it could have been like ;3 hope this helped, I sort of had to rush x3

Movie Maker was supposed to be added into FH in later updates, but sadly KovuLKD, the games creator left back in 2011 without a word, taking the source code with him. Without that source, nobody can edit the game to finish such items in the game. So, it was supposed to be an update until that happened, therefore there is no download hun, sorry.
But, if it was there, I would imagne kind of a video recording addon to it. It would be very useful to youtubers without fraps or bandicam to record their own videos.

If the moviemaker tool was actually finished it would probably have a way to move your character around perform actions and change emotes with some kind of node system, which in term allows the movement of multiple ''puppets''.
just me speculating about it alot but would make the perfect one man movie tool, I'm guessing it would have been something like that.

That was what I was thinking
I was also thinking it would have a smoother camera movement(Not saying the one that's actually there isn't smooth, I'm just saying it'd be smoother), and with a LOT of options to choose from.

I have to guess that the Movie Maker would've been this tool that allowed someone to make movies as if you were in Blender, though rather simplified. For example, you have to make a scene for a character walking. To make it walk, you have to take a marker and drag it somewhere. To make the character go in multiple directions while walking, you would press a button (preferably the Alt button on your keyboard) to make a marker between the destination marker and the character, and of course, you can make more markers. Of course, you would likely want to change the character's walk to a run (or vice versa), or make it jump. The actions panel lets this happen.
When you select a movement trail, the actions panel displays two options: run and jump. Of course, the 'crouch' button would be selectable at all times, and 'jump' would be in the normal 'actions' tab. Of course, like in the ingame movie maker, the actions and emotes can be toggled for a certain scene, and for a certain amount of time in a scene.
As for text, you can fairly simply add text to a scene, said text only appearing for a set amount of time, changeable via the 'Movie' menu. But besides adding text, you can upload files from your computer to add new music, and even give the characters voices! Thankfully, if you assign an audio file to a character, the lipsync will attempt (keyword 'attempt') to sync up with the audio.
Now for the part that can either be really fun, or really tedious. Animating your characters. Not dissimilar to Blender, all characters have skeletons (informally rigs) that can be animated. When you have a character selected, the 'Movie' panel will give you the option to go into 'Skeleton Mode'. In Skeleton Mode, the timeline gains a new feature: keyframes. Almost exactly like within Blender, keyframes are your ticket to animating your movie. Thankfully, all characters are IK rigged, meaning you simply have to move a paw up and down for the entire leg to move. This can be the gateway to far more realistic animations than the ingame FeralHeart engine allows! Unfortunately, you are unable to edit the facial features of a character. This is what emotes are for, anyways.
So, is this a good concept for the movie maker, or no?

Bump. I think it would be interesting to hear some fresh opinions.

Pretty sure it would've functioned like campaigns in Impressive Title.

Movie maker, where you can script the camera movement and angles (maybe with the mouse?) would have been an interesting feature (i imagined it as being finished like that) and there would probably be many short films on youtube made using it.
Guess we'll never know.

I think so too. I'm assuming the Movie Maker would have had the ability to create and move cameras, as well as switch the active one. Probably by setting keys on a timeline. And of course the typical camera movements like crane, tilt, pan, zoom, dolly, and track would be available.
As far as characters go, I believe it would have been something like Motionbuilder by Autodesk, if any of you know it. Essentially, you place a character into the scene, and select an action for them to perform, as well as choosing when they do it. I assume moving would be done by placing markers to show where the character would go, and then it's only a matter of selecting whether they run, walk, or crawl there.
Actions and emotes would be selectable, and could probably be overlaid on a different layer than the base movements. I don't think there would have been a way to move the bones in the Movie Maker tool, that sounds much too complex for what FeralHeart allows, especially since the character rigs don't have controllers, but are animated by moving the joints themselves.
I also think that the Movie Maker tool would have allowed the use of a specific map, as well as the selection and changing of weather / sky types. As far as "text" goes, I think that could have been a box where you enter text that you either want your character to speak, or to appear on the screen, like a title. You could of course choose when the text appears / is spoken in your movie.
Would probably be useful for the AMV contest.

probably like any machinima maker
have creature move here and certain time, do actions x y k l z at x spot in 2 second, etc etc.
edit: oh hell i just realized this might be a necro/i posted here ages ago. history has been resurrected before us this day.
