I was talking to some online friends and I after awhile I started to wounder why/how they chose the usernames they wear.
Most of them answered 'Its my characters name' but it was still kinda interesting to chat about so I'ma post here asking how you all came up with your usernames. C:

My username is usually only Steak. I was nicknamed it in school while reading a manga titled 'Letter Bee'. It's after a little monster that's called Steak in the manga [He's got a little mustache thingy <3]. Steak is Niche's [One of the main characters] live bait and emergency food supply. Seems when ever she cooks him he just ends up with a perm. xD

The 'medium rare' part came around on Livestream for some reason. I honestly can't remember anymore how it did. xD

I made up the word kyugima to name a character of mine for a story I was writing. Then she became my alter ego in a way XD

God, How could I tell you. There are 3 Usernames that are Important to me, Maryritai, Demonic-Angel and Kase-Princess.
Maryritai was always my Identity, It Dear to Me because My Brother, Just Really created it. He created the Username Martritai for My Club Penguin Account, I changed that one Letter and It has been dear to me eversince.
Demonic-Angel is Two Things. It named after a Dear Friend to me, A Guy with The Username of Demonic-Tracer but I know his True Identity, I can't tell you thou. It also Shows my other Self or Ego. My Ego Is Just a Evil Princess/Angel, Because I think Evilly.
And Kase-Princess. I was on this MMO and A Person gave me a Account as a Gift, I accepted it.

Hes just so awesome. I have other usernames of use to frequently use. But this one is my main one I use a lot.
My others are Tetsukiyomi, and BlueRoseNero14.
Tetsukiyomi came from a comic my friend use to do. He based the characters off his friends. And I happened to be named Tetsukiyomi. xD
BlueRoseNero14 came from my obsession with Devil May Cry. When Nero was introduced, I instantly fell in love with him and he was my favorite character of all time for some time. What made it better is that he was voiced by the same dude that plays Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, one of my fav animes. Than I went back to loving Dante, the classic. <3

Oh. Sylph. Not very original. xD I got it from the book Darkwing. :3 I saw the name, and instantly fell in love with it. <3 It's been my username on countless of sites. So, if you see 'Sylph' somewhere, most likely it's me. x3 Or, SylphLugia. Just my favorite Pokemon tagged on the end there. Haha.

GemWolf and MysteriousGemWolf are the two I use most often.
MysteriousGemWolf was the name I made up for Wholfhome in honor of my fursona, Gem. I get called Gem irl and online, with many nickname variants of it. xD GemWolf is just a shortened version. x3

I've always wanted to tell people why I chose the name 'Pure' :B
I had a cat when I was about 10 and I named her Pure but it didn't really fit her cause she had many different colors but she was pure calico. A month after she died about three years ago I got IT and I decided to keep her alive with me by choosing her name as my user and I've stuck with it since.
Sweetest cat I've had in my life and the only one that I've used as a username. :3 That is the story behind my username.
I've also got the user of WolfOfFlame on a diff site but I honestly can't remember why I chose it...Too many years ago.
edit 13 years later. Little man lied SO hard to make himself sound cool. Why did my pets always DIE in my fake stories like???? HELLO??

I got my username from Nighty, my main wolf, Al ,the anime char. from fma my friend always wants to hug, and 18 my lucky nmber = NightyAl18 XD

I got mine from my xbox live gamertag :) owenater1000 And I got my xbox gamertag from a name my friend gave me. We called him Smurphy (his name whith an s in the front) Because he wears alot of blue. So he called me owenater and I added 100 :) XD

I got mine from one of my friends because I didnt have a tan yet and he said i was whiter then tofu and the name just stuck its also my fursonas middle name.

I used to go by BlackFireXD13. BlackFire because I was an emo nerd at the time and XD13 because I happen to love the emote and number.
Then, on deviantART, someone had already taken that username so I had to come up with a new one. I decided to smush two of my favorite, and longest lasting OC's names together and it ended up being Kama-ItaeteXIII. Kama is my alter-ego and Itaete is his best friend (If you know what I mean! JK). XIII is because I like the roman numeral 13. >.>
Then, I was making an icon for my dA account which involved dynamic smushing together Kama and Itaete and I found out that Kamaete was easier to write than Kama-ItaeteXIII. Kamaete has since been my user name.

Jae is my nickname, cause there are way toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many Jennys in class, LOL. Seriously, if you called out "Jenny!" about six heads would turn xD

I use to go by Raven, I picked that name for most users because the actual bird is my favorite animal xD It was mysterious and just seemed to fit me, but I soon came to see that it was becoming way to common of a name, so at the moment I have changed my name to Katsa, after a favorite book character of mine in my favorite book of all time, and I've read a lot of books, 'Graceling'. Katsa is the main character x3

i used to go by drtranfan, because he was so awesome sauce. dr is in there cause they would call him doctor, witch he really wasnt.hes just a kid with that movie cormercial mans voice messing with him XD tran was his name. fan because i was his no.1 fan. but then, i discorvered.. invader zim! and so gir was my favorite character. we were the same in so many ways. i would run around and scream like when i was little, and i love tacos too. moosy fate used to be my motto before i even watched it. now its " WAFFLES!" and he likes them just like me. we would both have pigs. <3 i had a toy webkinz pig, hed have a time traveling pig. i just felt like it was love at first site. and the episode i saw him dancing, i had to make that my avi. and then, i couldnt contain myself... i loved him so much.. i wanted to go around most websites with the username! so thats how my name was gir, and i felt like my life was fullfilled and my deed was done. the end.

I get a lot of questions about why my username is 12 Dollars. I was going through my wallet and I had $12 cash on me, then it so happened to be the 12 of December XD
So I just stuck with 12 Dollars, cause it was full of irony

Tigg came up from the users nicknaming my original name "Tigerpython" to tig. And because 3 letters is most likely too less to registrate somwhere i endet up with Tigg.

I have two, well one really but...
Draak originates from the Endless Forest, it was the name of my first picto I chose. This was before Draak actually became a character. So I was known as Draak on the TEF community.
It was also a sort of mistake, since when I tried my original nickname it was taken. So I randomly put in 'Draak' and yeah.
My actual nickname is also Raz. However I was known as this waaaaaay before I played IT so I'm not trying to impersonate Razmirz. This name originates from when I started on DeviantArt 4 years ago. My DA username is 'Rasiris' and someone started calling me 'Raz' for short...and it just stuck xD.
I usually chop and change from Draak to Raz and to a lesser extent PhoenixGryphon when it comes to needing a username and such.

I have had a lifelong interest (turning into a passion...) for dinosaur paleontology. The Mesozoic era is the period in time when dinosaurs were ubiquitous. Because I'm so hip and trendy (lol), I made Mesozoic into an adjective and made it into my username. Whoopee.

I got my user because I play in band and recently started playing in jazz band as well. Jazz became my favorite. I typed the word "Jazz" in the name box, but it was taken. So, Jazzz it was. Now I get called Jazzz, Jazzzz, and whatnot. I guess people like adding z's on names. xD

I grew up in Las Vegas and when I moved to Salt Lake City; mind you, Utah is a state that is against gambling, but I was so accustomed to gambling I couldn't help but play poker and whatnot with my friends for like lunch money, video games, etc.
Eventually they just started nicknaming me Gamble, all during high school my teachers even started calling me Gamble.
Now that I've moved back to Las Vegas, not as many people call me Gamble anymore, but friends and family still call me it.

I remember Lego came out with a set of knights for a medieval themed collection, the green one (my favorite color) was named Rascus. I thought that was the coolest name ever! When I first started playing Dungeons and Dragons, I used the name Rascus Nailo for my Elf Druid. When I got into Neverwinter Nights (video game D&D), I continued using Rascus the druid, but when I decided to try elf ranger for a slight change in pace, I decided to use family name association, and Radasus made its first appearance. Years later, it became the name for my raccoon fursona.

lol I got my name because I have a movie I love and for those of you who dont know its Fox and the Hound <3
I had a dog named Copper after Copper from that movie so my names like Copper for me <3 I pretty much use it everywhere though my Minecraft name is Copperwolfgirl XD

I've had my username FOREVER. XD. I used it first on Runscape, but I got it from lisping while playing smash bros.

They didn't say they were the same person as Avani from WH, they said they got their username from them, even credited them and thanked them O_o Way to be rude, there are much MUCH nicer ways of dealing with this kind of issue, like PMing them.
