I haven't played FH in 3 or so years, and I have decided I would like to start playing again, but there's a problem.
I had FH on my Windows 7 desktop, but the C drive is filling up quickly as I share the desktop with my parents. Therefore I have decided to play on my Windows 8 laptop instead. However, I downloaded the game and when I attempt to run it, the screen is black and I receive the error "Feralheart.exe has stopped working". I made it so the Data Execution Prevention allowed FH to be played, but it still doesn't work. I also attempted to change the rendering system, but it still did not work (though I do suspect I messed up somehow!). There are no duplicate particles, and I have never downloaded any mods, objects, etc.
What other options do I have?

Im not sure of the solution for this, but you could try to install FH directly on C:\FeralHeart instead of program files.
Also Directx should be installed (if you just copied Feralheart this can happen)
Also try to run Feral heart as administrator.

Thank you for the replies.
I forgot to mention that I also attempted to run it as an administrator, but there was no such luck. My DirectX is up to date.
I've had a look on the thread and tried all the steps. Unfortunately, none seem to work. :c

Maybe you could give this a try
Keep in mind that you need to select the compatibility that YOUR computer is running.

Right click the game icon on your desktop and select "Properties"
then click on "Compatibility and follow the instructions in the image above.
When you reach the dropdown box, select the format you are using~
Finally, click "Apply" then "OK".
(If nothing takes affect, try restarting
your computer too.)

I tried that, yet it still, sadly, isn't working. (Guess it isn't my lucky day :P). It does make me wonder if I've messed up somehow.

I would suggest you to uninstall and delete the entire game and folders a few times.

You can also try, reseting you character from the the top right of the forum. Are you sure you have the latest version of FH, because you are saying you haven't play FH from years?
