Title: Adding another Terrain Mask

I'm working on a super important map and I wish for it to be as detailed as possible.
I need to know how to add in 6 different terrains because I've heard it's possible...but I need to learn how to do it in GIMP.
Can anyone help me :(? I can't find any tutorials on it and I'm an idiot trying to translate it from Adobe Tutorials.
