Title: File Sharing Websites
Post by: greenart6 on June 07, 2015, 10:33:56 pm
I've just been getting sick and tired of Mediafire lately. The ads are just terrible, there are pop-ups everywhere, I now need to fill in a captcha just to download something, and most of the time that doesn't even work and instead leads me to some sort of virus-y site.

I'm just wondering if anybody knows of some free, safe, file sharing websites which preferably don't force people who are downloading the file to make an account as well. Thank you to anyone who can suggest some <3

Dropbox would be a safe downloading website, NO ADS what so ever. It's just a plain screen with the download on the screen and it's much easier to get a download for something. The only thing needed is to download it, then you can place the files you want to make a download for in the Dropbox file. Next, you just need to left click it and click share download link and it will automatically be copied to your clipboard.

yeah I honestly recommend dropbox too. you have to make an account & download the client to upload things, but not to download things.

the best part's that you really only need to open up the dropbox folder and copy the file right in, then right click to get the link. it's super easy 8)

Yes, the above answers are probably the best you'll get. Dropbox is faster and much, much cleaner ad-wise. Best of luck in your downloads. ;)

Adrive (http://adrive.com)

Adrive has ads, but I don't think they take you places(only when clicked they will.) Not sure about this one since I haven't used it myself.

Also, Deviantart has the ability to upload zipped files and .exes for use if your looking for something you're familiar with.

Can't believe no one said a word about MEGA. :p Easily one of the best, IMO.

I have throughout the years been using sendspace.com if mediafire wasn't an option. Just like other alternatives you do not really need an account to share files. As long as the download is being used once in a while the link itself will remain active.

I saw some website a while back called Cybox or something; our class had to download a lot of files and they were posted on that site. Don't think there were any ads lying around, either. It looked very official and organized.
