Title: Feralheart.exe Has Stopped Working
Post by: athena7703 on June 27, 2015, 06:40:15 pm
Hello there. Recently, through three different computers and one account, and this has been the same routine:
I start the game, get to the menu, and log in. I create or select a character, and press start when finished. The loading screen is perfectly fine, the music is switching, and then suddenly, a window pops up. "Feralheart.exe has stopped working!"

First thing:
- Yes, I have tried to run it as an administrator.
-Yes, I deleted it and reinstalled it again, numerous times in fact.
- Yes, I've deleted the main folder and all of its files, including the game.
- Yes, I've tried changing options in the starting window.

Second thing:
- Not a single thing on that list is effective for me.

Any other ideas? I could really use some help here!

Has Feral Heart always worked normally for you, until now? What kind of computer do you have, may I ask?

Same exact thing happening with me. I don't think it's you, I think it's something wrong with Feral Heart. What worked for me is going to my user panel, and clicking Go Home on all my characters, then going to Ascension. Someone told me a lot of people were crashing every time they logged on a character/ went through a portal that went to Ficho, Cape, and Bonfire (for me I can't go to South Pole either) so I suggest  going to Ascension, which is one of the only places I can go to right now.

Hello, Athena! Have you tried changing your game's rendering system? Take a look at the small tutorial below on changing Feralheart's rendering system.
Quote
First, try opening the ogre.cfg file located in the main Feralheart folder and take a look at the first two lines. It should either say either one of the following:
Quote
Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
or
Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Now, if your ogre.cfg file is set to (for example) the Direct3D9 rendering subsystem, change it to the OpenGL rendering subsystem, and vise versa. Next, restart your game and see if the issue is fixed.
If you are still experiencing difficulties with crashing, I'd recommend checking your game's particle folder for duplicate files. First go into Feralheart\media\particles and check for any files ending in _0,_1, and so on. If there are any there, delete them and restart Feralheart.

I would suggest changing your rendering system. AlphaEclipse's post will show you how to do that. Since this topic has been most likely solved or left alone, I will go ahead and lock this. If you can't find a solution by looking around other people's topics, please create your own topic.
