Title: Water/Ocean Material

Is there any way I can make a different water material, as well as the existing ocean material? I want to have a map that has a river of normal default texture water, but I want to have muddy water (i have the textures) for other parts of the map. I really don't know how to do this, and I can't find any tutorials.
