Title: Map Not Working. Again.
Post by: The_Black_Cat on July 19, 2015, 02:38:44 am
So out of 24 maps in a map pack I downloaded, this is the only map that isn't working. I've checked and there aren't any weather files or weather cycle files. Is there possibly a corrupt mesh or something? How would I find a corrupt/glitched mesh? Is there anything else that could be making it crash that I've probably forgotten?

Hmmm, have you tried deleting the maps, and reinstalling them? That almost always seems to be what fixes these types of problems.

Did you make sure to delete every file? Sometimes even when you download them in the first place, there are duplicates. When you do download them, look for files with _1, or _2 (or however your computer renames duplicates) at the end, then delete those. Hope this helps.

I looked just now and there didn't seem to be any duplicate files.

Hmm, then I don't know what to do, sorry. I'm sure someone else can help! I mean you could always reinstall FH.

So many maps connected...

Thing is with these kind of map packs, having a lot of maps connected to one another, a lot of maps will not work or will crash for people if they were to enter it.

It is a common map pack glitch and it's difficult to fix without restarting a map or remaking it somehow to become less of a laggy/object filled map.

That's the other reason, some maps are too full of objects and detailed things that it can become too much for a game to handle sometimes in a sense.

I hope this somewhat clears some things up for you, Black Cat~

It could be that the map has too many objects for your computer to handle, but if it is a corrupt, damaged or typo'd file then only the one with the actual map files can fix it. They would have to double check for errors in any .material or other files that were used in that map.
