To come across a mate-beggar is when you have someone who follows you about constantly asking for you to be their mate/lover in the game. It's highly annoying, and they tend to bug you until you log off or they do. Though my suggestion is to just play along until they log out and then block them. Or just block them right off the bat.

Yeah no, I've never seen one myself... At least not a particularly fervent one. I mostly encounter people who want me to be their mom and swear at me when I refuse.

Ah, I have encountered quite a few of these. Generally they are really annoying and can't take a hint, usually just ends with a block unfortunately. 'inb4theblock'

They are a mythical species that prance around all the realms, (mostly Bonfire Island) hiding amongst the shadows waiting for their next prey to pursue.  They are determined to make you their 'mate' and will go to the ends of the world to make you love them.

Well, this is likely due to the fact that true matebeggers hardly exist here anymore. That was something that was only a "big" problem back in the day. (Like, two, three years back tops.) Be thankful for the thinning of such people, trust me. No matter how fun it may sound to run across them, it isn't. (Hallelujah for maturity.)
