Title: Need Help Again: These frickin' plateaus
Post by: hugrf2 on November 30, 2015, 06:29:53 am

Basically, no matter what I keep finding these plateaus and structures sticking out of a house in a map I'm in the progress of making.

I deleted the text in the object group file... Before that, I even reinstalled FeralHeart itself because of a different problem. I also moved every default object to my_objects and deleted the ones in the default groups in hopes of fixing this.

Maybe someone else can suggest a way to help? It'd be greatly appreciated.

I'm probably going to ask a friend to test this out real quick, see if anyone else sees this.

Also, this only happens in-game, not in the map maker.

And yes, I checked to see if any messed up objects could be causing this. ^^ The house is a complete mesh, and everything inside of it seems to be in tact so no one's using a plateau in that area for their object.

...Sorry if what I say seems confusing. Feel free to ask anything about the situation, I just want to get this resolved especially if everyone else sees this when I release the map.

Very strange. I'll do the best I can, and if I can't, I'm sure there's a solution out there somewhere

Firstly though, are the plateau files misplaced?

I'm not sure. It's possible, however before I moved them to my_objects they were in their rightful place... Should I be moving them back to that folder, and recreate the object group for the Misc and rock meshes?

I appreciate you trying to help me right now.

Shouldn't matter what folder they're in, the game reads them the same anyway, the folders are just for organizational purposes.
You're sure you deleted them out of the object file for the map?
Have you tried saving the map as something differently entirely, and exporting?

If you deleted it from the object file, then the best solution I can think of would be to open a blank "canvas" in map maker, and then just save it as something entirely different and new, then just take the files from the old map and rename them to fit the new one.

Okay, so finally I found the solution, thanks to Ruby I think. Really appreciate your help as well <3

So basically, I was able to figure out I should delete them manually, AKA from the map's folder in the material file and that actually fixed it perfectly. Thank you guys so much!

Also, Silver, if you made that map maybe you should try what I did as well. Just go to media>terrains and the folder for your map then go to <Mapname>Objects.cfg then search for the name of the cave. You'll see all sorts of coding like this for example...

[Nature Stuaf 1/Pumpkins]
5120.82 69.6157 2948.42
5176.14 69.3838 3023.21;1 1 1;0.843063 0 0.537815 0

Nature Stuaf 1 is the object group, Pumpkins is the object name. The numbers there you have to erase alongside those two, to fully erase the object basically...

...So yeah. ^^'
