Title: Heightmap Crash?
Post by: Corvalis on January 15, 2016, 07:48:35 am
Recently, I have been working on some maps, and I couldn't help but notice that whenever I try to open a newly created heightmap in-game, feral heart stops responding.
Is there any known way to fix this?
Sorry if there was already a thread about this. I looked around and I couldn't find anything recent.

Make sure your heightmap is

513x513
png image
grayscale
(if using gimp) remove alpha channel

Just to add on to what Preach has mentioned, make sure that the file name does not 'ave any spaces in it.

Also make sure that the layers are condensed (meaning you should 'ave only one layer). I sometimes 'ave to copy visible and paste it on a completely new "sheet" b'cause GIMP sometimes acts up on me.

As Preach has mentioned 513x513 is the size that FH works on, but don't worry if ye 'ave it set to 512x512, as that size also works.

I tried all of those things and nothing fixes it.
Should I copy and paste it onto a new 513x513 canvas?
Should I remake it (I wouldn't mind having to do so)?

EDIT: Actually, nevermind!
When removing the alpha channel I had forgotten to save it before trying to open it again in-game.
Thank you for the help!
