I have a gif thats 79 x 89 or something like that. But when i try to submit it it sends me to a site that says-
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information.
HELP!

Hmmm. I've never had that error pop up b'fore. Can ye tell me how long the gif is? It may just be too long like the error says. It can also be y'er internet connection. An unstable connection may be why ye can't upload the gif. Try checking y'er router as well, in case that's where the Internet problem is (if ye seem to be a lil' unstable).

I'd suggest not to uploading any avatar what so ever directly to the FH server, the size is limited and sometimes need very low size images to even show, also depends on if the server allows more attachments to be posted.
Use things like photobucket.com or even tinypic if needed, upload your avatars to there and then use the direct link and use that for your avatar, usually gives better quality as well.
