Ive heard that this game has a virus.. is this true? If so, how can I avoid it?

I have downloaded the game and I haven't encountered any virus. I don't know who told you that, but they might've done something wrong. This game is indeed safe for download. If you download it and follow the steps, you should be fine. ~
If you wish, you can go to the 'Home' section and click the hyperlink that says 'Downloads'. It should bring you to the section that talks about the downloads and what's in store.

I have to agree with Hakumi. This game is most definitely safe and I haven't encountered any virus from it, and I have had the game since 2012.

So yes, safe. Some things that can cause viruses are if you download something that could be found in "adfly" Or if you were to download the game from a site other then this one.
