Title: Having trouble getting into the game on the Mac client.
Post by: LawnmoaitheGreat on March 21, 2016, 09:23:26 pm
Okay, so, I log into the game just as normal and pick one of my characters. On the LAST SECOND of loading, the game crashes for no reason. At all. And sometimes it doesn't even give me a Program Error window as usual-just closes itself like nothing happened. Any help?

Have you installed anything recently? That could be a problem....Or maybe it could be the internet? Like a slow connection of sorts.
Also, you can try changing the rendering system in your game options to see if that helps. ~

I'm not a Mac user, however I know that the latest version of Mac will not allow FH to run. If you have the latest version (whatever it's called), then you'll have to revert back to an older version

I'd also go into your particles folder (FH > media > particles) and delete any duplicate files (files ending in _0, _1, etc)

I changed my rendering system, uninstalled and reinstalled my item pack, and it's still doing this. None of this is helping. At all. Is my game broken or something else entirely different?  ???

As far as I know, Macs are not gaming computers whatsoever; so I think most Mac users have to be careful with what they download etc. Here's a little something about Macs and hopefully it will help:

Hopefully a Mac user will stumble across this thread soon enough ^^"

It doesn't seem to have any information on it, but usually the Legendary Items pack runs it fine with the usual lag and all I use is that one pack.

If this is a more recent problem, and there haven't been many issues prior to this, perhaps refreshing your computer can help a bit. I'm not too familiar with Macs, but there should be some kind of data-preserving refresh/reset.

It seems to still be doing this. I've restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled my item pack, EVERYTHING.

Maybe there's something more to it & not just the item pack?
It seems that uninstalling / reinstalling the item pack isn't doing any justice for you , so maybe uninstalling / reinstalling Feral Heart might do the trick?
I'm not entirely sure if this will help the problem but as Kiki stated above , Mac ( especially the latest versions ) will give you some issues & you do have to be careful when it comes to downloading certain things. .

Hopefully something works out for you ~!

When you enter into the game on your character and the game crashes, are you testing all of this on one character? Your character may have gotten stuck going through a portal or map, thus causing the crashes to occur.

When you install the item pack, are you putting the files in the correct folders and replacing them when asked to do so? If you are skipping over those files that it asks to replace, this can cause issues.

It's possible that your computer simply cannot handle the lag that is produced by the effect of the items. If the character(s) that you're logging onto is in a crowded area with many users around, this can increase that lag that you're getting, especially when these users have items on their characters.
