We all think that our characters are great. They all are!
But ever look back to earlier days, and those characters that were... errr... not something you're proud of in hindsight. The edgies, the mary sues, the godwolves, the whole lot of them.
I used to have SO many edgy black cat OCs that were evil and ate kittens, etc. etc.
So, what are some of your early, "cringe" characters?
-
My n00bie charrs I made them perfect because I was a newbie they where all named like storm or lizze or stuff like that.
-
Not really sure I had a cringe character but there was one where I had to keep changing because I was never satisfied on how they should look. I'm making yet ANOTHER design for them. Maybe this one will stay, not sure. Lol.
-
I had two cringy lionesses. Don't remember the name of one, but it was 0-0-0 black with bright purple cub spots and aqua underbelly. The other one that was named Tama was 0-0-0 black with white stripes. I look back on them and I'm just like...what in the world was I even thinking?
-
My cringe character was a wolf with the basic horrible backstory...
It was black and white. The most popular wolf color.
That's all I remember about cringe characters.
-
literally every single character ive made I have plenty of old cringey characters.
Most significant was Ghinjo. She was Scar's (from TLK) daughter and was his favorite daughter and swore that she would avenge this death and kill all the pridelanders etc etc
She was incredibly unoriginal, and her character design was horrible. I loved her at the time, but now I cringe just running across a picture of her.
The other one is Kamaria. I still keep her around, considering she's in my current main character's family, but she's way different from her original form. She used to be this incredibly gothic looking wolf who somehow survived getting attacked by a full grown wolf as a newborn and having the rest of her pack killed off. She had a very 'tragic' backstory and while roleplaying her I was incredibly attention-seeking and wanted everyone to adore her.
But hey, thats what I liked at the time. I'm always learning new ways to make better, more balanced, and more enjoyable characters. Even if I think they were bad characters now, I loved them, and its helped me learn what makes a good character and what makes a bad character. So really, without those old 'cringey' characters, I probably wouldn't have learned anything today.
-
I'm sure I had plenty of cringey characters... lol.
An experiment-feline of some sort was something, I remember, but I sadly forget the name. Although, she might not be so bad. There's Havor the Killer, too, argh. He was a bit of a cliche, but I still have memories of roleplay that were good. He was a human character, basically, based after Tsume of Wolf's Rain. Darkish skin, amber eyes, white hair, black clothes - You get the picture. XI No explanation for the unnatural hair color, too...
The Phantom/Ferius Geether, too, was a brother to my main character, Azerus Geether. I fixed him up with some reasons to why he was so cringey, though. //sobs// And of course, there was my very first character, Loving the lioness. And characters like that back then. There were some overpowered ones, too, like a dog with metal claws...
I think, usually, when I make cringey characters, I either cover it up with creative/somewhat creative explanations, or just ditch the character and begin on the next. I think that's good, though, to kinda fix them if they're old but you like them still. I did that with Exxy, made him pretty complicated I think. I can't say whether or not he's a good character, sadly, but at least I like him and I enjoy roleplaying him, I suppose. ^^'
...Other than that, I'm not sure if I really remember the cringe of my characters, depending on which aspect. My roleplaying back then was a bit cringey, at least, and some backstories like with Nira the lioness, I believe, although I only remember small aspects of that one. ...I think most of the cringe might've come from the backstories, actually.
-
In my first few months of playing I would always make random male wolves named "Shadow" (or something else just as unoriginal) and just sit in the mate center to see who liked me o3o
Those guys make me cringe though, especially now that I'm looking back on some of their designs
-
Bringing up this memory is like nails on a chalkboard XD Butttttt, my most cringe-worthy character was a black cat that looked *siimilar* to Scourge from the Warrior Cats series. I called her Rain and I declared that she was the daughter of Scourge and an unknown rogue mother. She was the basic like copycat *hue pun intended* of Scourge though and now looking back, it makes me frown that I ever went down such a path xD
-
I once made a character called Fang, and made him a black lion with scars all around him, and red eyes. Then I made him act all bad and mean. I realized how cringe worthy, and I deleted him. I also had other characters that had pink and yellow fur, and neon colors. Those are good colors, but to me it looked very cringy on my characters.
-
I still make cringey characters to this day
-
I still make cringey characters to this day
Same tbh
-
Aaah. Those old cringey characters!
I have two that are so bad its scary.
1. Frost, a random blue wolf with wings and no mane.
2. Twilight sparkle. Yup. Pretty much a winged purple and pink wolf thats as big as possible.

by AlienBagel (http://alienbagel.deviantart.com/)
Sacred was kind of cringey for me.
When I first created her, her design was very dark, and she was very tall and weirdly thin, yet somehow managed to pack quite a bit of strength??? She always seemed to somehow find a way to come out on top in fights, though in retrospect she should've lost quite a few of those.
She was just kind of ominous in a weird "i'm never happy because i'm too cool and dark" way.
It was bad.
She's changed quite a bit now. xD
-
Before I put wings on EVERY character I have and
My cheetahs were neon yellow....
And they kinda had the shape of 404 ERROR (the hacker that has been on FH)
-
[size=9] oh god no not the cringe characters //shudder//
I had way too many. A lot of them were really 'edgy', like all black with bright red scars named Shadow or Fang. Or even just bad colour schemes with generic names. And the proportions were terrible too.
I'm so glad I grew out of making those.
(also, totally no offence to people who may have characters similar to what I stated)
-
I had a cringe character a long time ago, he was a blue wolf with green eyes and a black mane. He looked like a blueberry and some people called him a smurf. (Not a fan of smurfs xD) This character was important to me because it got me into my first big role play, which then set in action a series of....well I'll be blunt, dramatic events that eventually lead me to being a better role player and meeting my best friend. xD
-
I had Tornadoblood, she was evil like killed kittens, etc. She was such a horribly written character. Her looks were normal, but her personality and backstory was so badly underdeveloped haha. Killed everything because she was bullied and that's it.
I don't actually have anything against these types of characters, however.
-
I've almost no cringey characters in Feral Heart, those worthy enough to be mentioned are Telluris and Aclediptus, but I have totally redone them by now.
Telluris was my fist character, named after a Bionicle character by that time. I was thinking of something between a tribal deity of earth in the form of a canine and Pohatu (yet another Bionicle character.) He ended up looking like chocolate mint with the size slightly below the defaults, small enough to be considered a pup. I didn't know the legends and rules of roleplay back then, so whatever I said would've been quite hard to understand. Telluris is now bigger, grumpier, and more proper than he used to be, I still use him now.
Aclediptus came to mind as some sort of satire, probably a drug related joke. He had a rainbow tie and sunglasses, is in the biggest size possible, had bat wings, and is just a white skeleton with a nicotine problem. He's supposed to play the delusional jerk, but got too much attention from the FH 'demon' stereotypes and was viewed differently from his original plan. Now Aclediptus wears a blue tie and sunglasses, has a snake's tongue, and still suffers from the same addiction, only now he's a pink skull with no eyes. As my friend would describe him, he's a Pimped up drug demon.
Both aren't so cringey, but it's the cringiest I got. I wouldn't call myself lucky nor unlucky, I guess I made characters just in the right spot, between the weird and meh zones.
-
Ah the cringe. How back you want to go? I've had many cringe worthy characters over the years. I still probably have some now. I write a lot. (Not professionally thank heavens) So, it is only natural that eventually I come up with cringey characters that may also eventually make their way onto Feralheart.
One of them. You ready for this? It was for a story I was planning on writing, but I never did, because when I eventually started writing it, I realized how bad it was. (Years later of course) So I pulled the plug. A character I have, Titania, is based off the main character of this story.
In the story, she was a girl bullied and eventually blinded by her rich bullies and forced to be their guinea pig. (That is all I am going to say. Sounds good now, but the rest of it shall never be said.)
The FH character, I also named Titania. I covered her in scars from the abuse, made her blind, and can fly?
Yeah. I made this character able to fly. At the time, I said she could fly because of use of air currents telling her where things were. Forget about having to know direction and the fact that echolocation would have been a much better idea.
She was so cringey. I've modified her up a lot. She has to fly with assistance, but she does use echolocation. Because I grew a brain.

Ah, Cringy chars...
There is this one wolf I have called "Letter" Her name makes her sound less cringy doesn't it? Well, when you look at her and her backstory.. *CRINGE*
I have edited her backstory to a point where is makes sense and I edited her look which was a pitch black wolf with white cheetah marks, she also had the default color and design eyes. Now she has a preset made by Legendary~Grace, a friend o' mine, and she is less cringy.

My first character I made on here had every neon color under the sun.
-
I honestly can't remember having that many cringy characters, although I did have a horrible-looking neon pink fox once. Also had an edgy-looking dark purple lion with scars. For the most part though, haven't had many cringy characters on FH.
-
i used to have dog characters and they all looked like the main character of ginga nagareboshi gin
then i started drawing people and they all looked like the same and they were so un original and oh god im crying
-
*deep breath*
I forget most of 'em but here we go:
1: Lilliana.
My first ever FH character. I no longer have this character, but I'm thinking of re-making her with a much different look and personality.
Lilliana didn't really even have a backstory. She just sort of. Existed?
She was the biggest drama queen ever, so much so that I cringe at the thought of her. Also constantly seeking attention, overpowered, ect. ect. y'know the drill by now.
She was a winged wolf, with cringy colors. No, not neon, my character-making skills weren't THAT awful (but they were awful), but still not exactly pleasing to look at.
Fun fact: Lilliana's name was based on a character from a movie with a similar name. I don't remember the movie it was from though.
Also I made Lilliana on the spot, with no planning or character development whatsoever.
2: I don't even remember her name. I'm calling her Hailkit -shrug-
oH MY GOSH THE CRINGE
ok where do I start
Ok so her backstory was painfully cliche. Parents died, adoptive parents abusive, bullied, basically a goth and drama queen, blah blah blah
CRINGE.
Also she was like completely black n' white -sigh-
Fun Fact: She died. Yaaay. I don't remember how though, I think she drowned? Could be wrong though.
3: Tangledstar
I'm hoping to remake this character, and one day, her clan, but with less, y'know, cRINGE.
She's the leader of BukiClan. How? ... Because why not (I forgot to give her a backstory. Or maybe I did and just forgot it?)
She speaks Japanese. Despite never setting foot in Japan (LOGIC WHERE DID YOU GO)
Her entire clan was killed by Dark Forest, she was one of the few survivors (I neEED T O STOP)
Worst of all about her? HER EYES WERE PURPLE, AND SHE WAS BLACK AND WHITE. (SAVE ME)
Fun Fact: Her warrior name was Tangledlies.
I'm sure I have much more but I don't remember them right now. FUN FACT: Tangledstar (I gave her a re-design for this but I can't find it, nor remember what the re-design looked like so ye) is the mother of Coaltail, a dark forest warrior in my favorite WC RP ever: CONB. I wish I'd RP'd him more when he was alive, because dang he was fun to RP, especially when he was still a rogue tbh. At least I can still RP him, since one of his favorite hobbies is harassing Coal, my only cat from CONB who's still alive, but no longer with the clans (loner who started her own, small 'clan' of sorts with her family. Haven't RP'd with 'er in a while though ;;)

My first FeralHeart character I made years ago...
was a liger named Max.
-
I had a yellow lion with light blue eyes, a black mane and light yellow markings..
kill me plz
-
Oh god, lol. I had some really cringey ones back in 2011-2012. Mainly wolves too, I used a ton of Skyrim and Oblivion names for them too!
-
My cringe character was a lion named Shira. She was black with white underbelly and neon blue markings. And black wings along with a cringey pink mane.
-whatwasithinking- DX
-
Oh sweet cupcakes, why am i typing this? XD
I had some cringey characters back in 2011-2012 but i, thankfully, only remember two:
One was a cat name Snow, who was a Mary sue fluffy long-haired she-cat with bright blue eyes and wings. She was my first character on Feralheart but she had the typical oh-so-sad backstory completed with powers that makes Starkit (from Starkit' prophecy) seem normal and this "prophecy" about how she will save every one from the Disney villains and defeat them. I wish i was lying but i'm not.....*cringes*
The second character that i regret making is Star Angel, a white wolf with yellow or golden (i forgot) markings who was a angel and the daughter of a Queen. She is special for some reason, had a bunch of powers and she was perfect at everything expect for doing evil stuff. Yep. *cringes again*
-
Idk about you guys but my most cringy character is this
One of my first preset achievements and I still have it yet people still cringe over it XD

Oh man! I remember this old character I use to have called Blizzard. Most generic wolf character ever with the old Celtic markings? She was a white wolf in general: Kinda one of those character's you'd spot running around and say to yourself: "Eh, they must be new!"
-
My very first character (on my other account) had no effort. Just plain fur with plain angel wings. The name was "Armoured Beast". Name spelled wrong. I just cringe when I think about that character. But yeah thats all I have. :P
-
All of my charas that I rp with today are what I first made when I joined FH. Thankfully they aren't cringe worthy (atleast I hope ;-;) however, there is one in particular that sticks out from all of the others. I wouldn't call him cringey as he is just really edgey, and that chara is my beloved Cobalt. He is a half insane little mofo that can go off at a moments notice. This trait has actually made for some really interesting rps with my old packs (one of the medics in a previous pack actually figured out how Cobalt behaves before he loses it completely). I actually feel bad sometimes for the crap I put him through though lol. But cringey wise my character Dakota was one of those "last of his kind" "pack murdered while he was a pup" etc etc. I've been working on his backstory more though to make him more "normal" as you would say.
-
I have more juicy ones!
I remember having a winged TLK lion cub who would be friends with kion and ended up getting murdered by a vulture
heheheheheheh
And then there some random TLK cubs and lionesses who had mane, neon red/pink scars and all that big big edge
I also made lots of wolves and animals which had very tragic backstories aka: her parents abused her or her parents were killed by bears and the bear ripped a peice of her ear off
-
I made a Shrek character in an desperate attempt to be funny back in the day.
-
Guys, I know I havent been on much, and i'm sorry, but, I joined another community of wolves... Its called Wolf Soul, And, i'll never be on again.... I'll miss all of you cute floofs, I love you all. I once created a wolf that was pitch black with neon green Biohazard markings (from that popular marking pack? Forgot the name) and roleplayed it. It was pretty cool and all, but looking back on it, I cringe every time. I mean, wtf, that design was pretty -Removed by Moderator- tbh... lol.

well, either my vibrant blue or pink ones LOL named shadow hehe ::)

Saw one yesterday, i thought it was cool... but not everyone shares my taste.

I've got a new juicy one!
Before i'd literally slam myself into literate roleplays as winged animals with unbelievably longggg names. Example tear f winged husky p Or get into tlk RPs as cubs and literally keep dying off the pride rock cliffs
-
I'm somewhat new to Feralheart, so I haven't had any cringe-worthy characters inside the game, but I still have a lot of cringe-worthy characters from roleplaying in general.
One of the most notable was Juniperstar from a Warriors LARP with my friends. I was still fairly new to roleplaying, so I wasn't familiar with the term 'Mary Sue'. Juniperstar was a black cat with bright green eyes, who was the leader AND the medicine cat, delivered a plot-convenient life-changing prophecy at a time of need, fulfilled said prophecy, saved all the Clans, died, and then was revived as a ginger tabby 'with one black paw, to remember who she formerly was'. Juniperstar went down in fake, noncanonical Clan history.
I also had Shadewhisker, who I actually reused as a character multiple times. Shadewhisker now isn't too bad (although I suppose I don't really do Warriors RPs anymore), but the first Shadewhisker... oh boy...
Shadewhisker was grey and black with purple (yes, PURPLE) eyes. She had wings (in Warrior Cats) and a forked tail, and ALL DA 'PAWS MADED FUN OF HER. She was the typical 'pity me, I'm so sad and bullied and my abilities are a curse'-type character. Not to mention she had a sister (Lilydusk) who was 'loved more than her' and 'did so much better' and 'won at everything'.
I could go on for hours about my countless terrible characters I made when I was little, but I won't. G'bye.

For a Game Discussion topic such as this, it is perfectly fine to necro a thread as long as the topic is still relevant to modern FeralHeart. This topic isn't that old either. I will leave this open for those reasons c:

Oh boy.. I have two.
I had one, my first ever, that was wolf with the whitest of white pelt and underfur, bright green spots all over, a bright blue eye-cover mane and eyes that matched said mane. I thought she was the prettiest little wolf but now I am very disappointed in myself.
The other isn't quite looks because I am still a little proud of her but it was the way I roleplayed as her. She was simply a perfect prissy little snob lion who thought the world revolved around her, she'd always call everyone her 'slave' and force them to retrieve her things which started as a joke but grew into her personality. I absolutely HATED roleplaying as her but a few people in the group forced me/convinced me to stay, I can't look at her without cringing.
-
I lost all of my old characters, so I can't exactly remember my first.
But a cringey moment happened when I played in 2014 involving one of my chars (Fear F Demon) and an Adoption Center. I was just standing right in front of the Adoption Center having a look at the children sitting there when someone going by the name of Fear F Demon(Yes, my characters exact name) said "I WANT TO -something- YOUR KIDS!". I checked the names of both my character and the character possibly posing as my character and they were both EXACTLY the same, I then ran away from that Adoption Center and never went back to an Adoption Center as that char if I ever approached to an Adoption Center since that moment.
So that was an awkward moment I had when I started playing, this is actually the very first time I told this story to anyone.
-
I remember Feebi the winged tlk lion and i started screeching and falling off cliffs and also drowning. oml XD
-
I had edgy Mary Sue godwolf OCs. I was a huge wolfaboo who tried so hard to be edgy (and failing badly).
The only damn things I roleplayed were "falls off cliff dies" in Bonfire.
-
I have made several cringey characters in my years on FH. I know I enjoyed making darker colored wolves and lions to seem more "cool and edgy" among my friends, despite my bubbly personality. I also realized that they were seen as more attractive, and could get more mate-interests. Those were dark days indeed.
I remember I had these two twin wolves, Cobra and Viper, whose parents died and Cobra blamed Viper for it happening. Viper was seen as the "older" twin, more mature. Cobra had the lovely 255 RGB red eyes and evil grin. I love them to this day, but man oh man, I regret them.
-
neon and big muzzle is all im saying
-
I remember a dragon char I created back in 2014 that I was silently roleplaying with(I was pretending to film a story I had thought up about a dragon). I remember falling off of the cliff and pretending my dragon got a broken leg from the drop(I remember it well enough to recreate it). At the time, I had fun acting out that short story I thought up, but today I wonder why I did that since anyone around could have been watching me(I think someone walked up to my char as it was laying on the ground under the cliff). I fell off of the cliff and then stayed on the ground for a few minutes imagining the story being narrated in the background before getting up and eating someone who just happened to be lying on their side.
I also imagined filming a music video back then where I was resting on the cliff and moving around on the cliff then back to resting, then there would be a bunch of wolves howling in a line. (I think I acted out the cliff part of what I imagined would be in the music video, while there were others watching).
Though I never did film the stories and music videos I planned to film back then.
