So I'm trying FH once again but this time I have a mac. It is on the most current update, El Capitan OS X 10.11.4 and the download seems to go fine until I try to open it...and I get this error:
An error occurred while starting the X11 server: "Failed to activate core devices.
Help?

I know I don't have a Mac, but I DO know that the most recent version of it doesn't let FH open.
Try putting it back on an older version? If you can. I'm not sure if you can *shrug*

You can try checking this thread out floof c:

Hopefully this helps c:

Alright so I did manage to get it to open another way, but now the mods will not work. I've installed them like you normally would but they refuse to cooperate...any ideas?
-
Make sure you're not missing any files and that you're putting the mods in the respective folders. Whether it ask for items / textures.
-
I'm pretty sure I have. The .cfg files are where they should be and the files all downloaded :P
-
Did you replace the original files with mod files?
-
Let me double check
-
Ok I did it again to make sure and I made sure to replace all files in materials and items for both mods, neither work.
-
Could try changing your rendering systems or maybe that particular mod itself has something missing / error in the files if this hasn't happened before with the others.
-
I'm not sure how to change the rendering systems as I am using Porting Kit to even get FH to open x3 and I pull the packs straight from the creators DA page so I would hope nothings missing x.x
-
You can change your rendering system from the FH folder and just open up the 'orge.cfg' and switch it to either Direct3D9 or OpenGL.
-
Would the fact that only OpenGL is an option be a problem?
-
Could be floof. Usually there should be a 'Direct' as well. I could be wrong.
You might to try downloading FH again and making sure you download from the site here. Not 1OO% if you use torrent so don't take my word for it.
-
I downloaded straight from here :/ and I've downloaded it twice, but it only seems to show the openGL option.
-
I lied, it shows the Direct Option, not the openGL
-
So you're able to make the changes?
-
I can make changes on everything but the rendering type. It only shows one, and not the other. but nothing I've tried so far has worked.
-
In the file you should be able to manually type the OpenGL , replacing Direct3D9 if that makes sense.
-
Not at all o.o I have both files in the FHRoot, but when you open the application and the box pops up, i cannot from direct to OpenGL and you can't type in it.
-
Nej, I meant typing the other option into the .cfg file unless you have already tried that and it didn't work.
-
Ok I messed with something in the files and now the markings show up...and items show up, but items refuse to be added lol....oy what a mess.
-
Do you know what you did exactly? Lol.
-
Tried repasting them again and this time it worked so maybe I was missing one.
-
Well at least you got it solved ^^
-
The mods and add-ons can definitely be a bit tricky when there are so many of them. I'm glad to hear that you were able to work it out. Usually double-checking those files are a good way to ensure that everything shows up and downloads how you want it to. I'll lock this up for you since the problem no longer stands. c:
