This one was born from a little boredom, and thorough dislike of the geography of South Pole.
I felt the hilly geography really fitted a more warm environment. So, I stuck some lovely sandy textures onto the snow and played around the particles a bit, and this is what came from it. Perfect for roleplaying and preventing your character from freezing to death! The only thing I wasn't able to change was the behaviour of the particles, so although they look like large chunks of sand, they still behave like snow. Sorry about that.
Again, this isn't a huge mod, but I certainly do prefer sandy South Pole, to snowy South Pole.
Perhaps I'll try working with some non-collision meshes next? Who knows.
Here's a few previews.

This looks pretty neat. Might have to try this out in the future. Nice job ~!

Sweet, no more eye blinding whiteness. Good job. c:

YESSSSS
I always thought that a hilly snowy place made no sense. This looks legit now. Sand always forms in more hilly patterns and what not. I love the portal <3 This actually looks really cool. Nice work!

Ahhh love this<3 Thank you so much for making & sharing this with us all c:

This is a beautiful mod. Thank you for making this.

This is very neat Alfie! I may have to give it a try. ^^

Omg.
This is wonderful haha, nice to see that you've been venturing with your creations a little bit more openly; I use your portal mod and it's absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see what you release in the future. ^w^

Thanks for the great reception, guys! Wasn't sure what the community would think of this, heh.
@LordSuragaha, yeah, that's entirely the reason I re-textured it. Snow doesn't entirely form hill formations unless it's supported by something, and by the shape of these hills, they're not. Sand piles easily and looks much better on South Pole.
Looks like global warming hit South Pole hard!
@Shurtle, thanks! Yes, I'm really trying to mod things that aren't usually touched by most modders. It's a bit of a change.
As for everybody else; thank you!

Oh my sweet baby dinosaurs. That is amazing! I'll defiantly have to give it a shot in the future!
What made you choose a desert out of all the options? Whatever it was, you chose well!
-
This is so cool! I think it's kinda funny how it is still snowing...but it's a desert
-
@RaventheVerewolf, thank you. Sadly there wasn't much I was able to do about that. Playing around with the snow particle file just caused crashes and the game freezing upon entering South Pole. I may look into it further and create a patch that will either fix the snow to look more sandy, or remove the snow entirely.
@pkf7, a desert? Well, it really seemed like the only landscape I could go for that wouldn't require non-collision meshes to be placed. That, and some people don't really want meshes in South Pole, just those blind white textures to go away. I may play with non-collision meshes once I've gotten some permission from the administrators. Either way, thank you!

This is pretty cool! I kinda prefer this since the bright whiteness in SP gives me headaches haha. Good job!~

Woah ;o
This is really cool. Nice job floof. Gonna download it sometime. ^^

I love deserts.

This is pretty neat! It does make more sense for that terrain to be in a desert rather than tundra now that I think about it.
