Hello everyone, as you know Feral Heart just went though a big update and a lot of things have changed. I have noticed that there are people who are unhappy with the update and I just wanted to explain a few things. People often have a hard time transitioning into something new, if this is how Feral Heart was originally and we changed to the old way, people would be reacting in the same manner. Change is a difficult thing to grasp, especially for something that has been the same for several years, but even if change can be scary it doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad thing. It is true that there will be some bugs and glitches that need to be worked through because it is just starting out, but we had the same issue back with Flourite plains in the beginning when people would constantly have to reset their characters there when they crashed. We also had plenty of major crashes throughout the time that feral heart has existed but the staff has worked hard to make sure that we are able to still play this game. You have to remember that the original creator is no longer here, it could of just ended when he left, but no, the staff decided they wanted to keep feral heart going for all of the players who enjoy it, and they did a pretty darn good job of it despite the issues. This is a free game as well, which means staff aren't paid, they did everything they've done for free and managing a site and game is far from easy.
The maps have gotten smaller that is true, but because of this they also run faster.
The places have changed, but things do need to change in order for progress to be made. If everything stayed the same then people would become bored of the game and certain issues would never be fixed.
There is a lot more on the maps now, including an awesome underwater map.
I know it can be hard to accept change, but I feel that this update is worth it. We just need to stick to it and let ourselves get used to it. Eventually those who hate it might end up liking it a lot better as time goes on. So everyone please just give it a try, a lot of work was put into these and it is impossible to please everyone.
And now I would like to thank everyone who has worked on this update and for everything they have done involving the site and entire game from the start. Thank you, Feral Heart is a great game and even if it changes I'm glad it exists because it holds many precious memories to me and there aren't many free role play games like this.

You are absolutely right floof. Change is a hard thing to come over, especially when it's been 4 years since the last update. But with time, everything will work out and people will get used to it. ^^
-
Very well said.
Sadly we can only please so many people & others can be stubborn when it comes to change overall, but unless they've actually been through what these floofs has been through they can't complain too much without reason.
As stated above, hopefully they'll soon come to like and understand the changes. ^^;
-
tbh if you don't want to play the update, it is still possible to access the old version if you don't replace it.
or at least, it was when I last attempted to test.(I tested to see if they were able to put up the 'please update to the newest version' message upon login to stop people from going ingame normally so they'd need to update, turns out you can still login and play just fine)
honestly, idk how it would work with some players in the original maps and others in the new ones- whether people in Fluorite would see people in a 'replacer' map from the new version or not or whatever, idk really
But really, it is still possible to play the old version last time I checked, so if you don't like the new version, you don't have to update.
-
Yes, well said indeed.
I admit, it is quite the transition, but it's for the better. You can't satisfy everyone, but that's just how life works.
If the staff members feel like this game needed an update, that is their choice and they know what will benefit it.
Like Hakumi said, hopefully they understand the changes and learn to love them.
-
As Red said to me earlier, Sacrifices must be made.
I preferably like the new update, the smooth rendering of the maps especially. Once you learn the paths, the portals are plenty easy to find, although, it'll take some time for everyone to adjust. But, come to think of it, the mods are somewhat easier to install now on newer members. Veterans, we must learn the new age together!

Glad you've said it.
There's always gonna be unsatisfied people, but hey. We gotta take a chance now and than, and I really think it was worth it.
-
i find it hypocritical to be complaining about the update;
for YEARS people have been complaining about having an update and nagging the mods to reach out to Kovu to get the source codes. and now they finally updated it and the same people turn around and criticize it 'give us the old FH back !!' you asked for this , you got it ??
the maps are smaller yeA but sacrifices need to be made in order to make the update YOU WANTED happen.
it saddens me to see this kind of response to something so good (that i honestly nearly cried last night)
its like- no matter what you do people are gonna complain.

Ohmygod I can just imagine a whole bunch of us older users bumbling around like old people xD "goshdarnit, where has this portal taken me now!?" "How on earth are there this many maps?" "Back in the good ol' days all ya needed to know was where fluorite was, an' never go to bonfire!"
No but honestly, can't wait until I fix my laptop and I'm able to play this game. Change is very important, but we're never gonna get everyone onboard. I honestly believe this is the kind of refresh the community needs, and I can't wait to see the effects of it!

I like the update, and I hope more will come as the years go on. Feralheart became boring and repetitive with no changes. (I didn't realize the maps got smaller. I guess everything looks huge when you're trying to find your way around :P)
I've been scoping out the maps to find good RP spots. So, that brings me to a little discussion question? Where would be the best map to play with a Lion RP? That is where I loved Flourite Plains. Since, lions live in a savanna, the plains were perfect. So, out of curiosity is there a map or a section of map that is plains like?
It may very well be the grounds map, but like the old Bonfire. Too many people. I wonder if they'll bring in the maps from Feralheart + I know the guy lost the data on his computer, but would it be possible to remake them?
Anyway, love the update. New things to see, a new reason to play.

*Snorts*
Anyways, at first I hated it, even thought about quitting. But I think through time we will love it. :3

Yes. I agree. Sacrifices must be made. Besides all this new stuff will get FH more famous and well known since we updated and all ^^

I would say Eastern Pass or Charika (Or however it's spelled xD) Valley. They both have some good places x3

No. I will never get used to it. Every time I think about it my bitterness grows. Also, about your points. Not everyone has a slow computer. I've played FeralHeart since 2011 and never have had one single lag problem. My only crash problems were from me messing around with exports and custom stuff like a doofus. FeralHeart used to be original, now it's just a shiny Impressive Title. Wolf Soul is more original than FeralHeart is now, and it is an actual IT server. I've tried to be neutral about this update, I've tried to give it a chance, but I can't. I won't. I will NEVER let the old maps go, I will NEVER get used to anything, and people telling me otherwise always just make my bitterness grow.

Again, sorry you feel this way. Just like you saying that not everyone has a slow computer, some actually do.
If you find that WS is more original than FH now, then you're free to go and play it. You're not obligated to stay on this game, no one is making you stay on this game. If you wish to willingly leave, then you may do so.
Maybe something will happen in the future between FH & the Old Maps and maybe not.
But until then, all we can do is wait and if you feel like your time here has come to a close then all I can say to you is Good Luck c:

I'm sorry you feel this way. Stubbornness wont solve anything and like with real life, we have to deal with the cards that have been dealt. You said not everyone has a slow computer, yes that is true, but this does help with those who do and more and more recently that has been a lot of people. If you decide you don't want to play fh anymore, then it is fine. It wont be a huge loss to lose someone who doesn't want to play. Many people enjoy this new version of fh and it wont be changed because a few people don't like it. You have to either get used to it, or leave. Either way, try not to cause so much drama over a game.
-
I'm still not gonna get used to anything
-
Very well spoken, I like. But I will to say something...I like the maps/update. Do you know they have are beach? I will probably chill there everyday. Don't worry floof, this is just a new beginning. Soon enough you will admire theses changes and turn out to love it xD x3

Nope
-
kovuvitani pls just leave
-
Go sit with Kass in the baby pen! And call me Jet!
-
nah fam you're the one who belongs in the baby pen
-
Lol I think the -angrynubwords- found out she got hacked lmao
-
Both of you need to calm down a bit.
-
stillangry meaning Kass. I'm not wasting my time getting Alissa's boyfriend to hack anyone else.
-
Hey now, friend.
Easy on everything.
Just take a breather, I know Skull's actions aren't very mature by just lighting you up more, I've told her/him this.
Just close the laptop and take a breather, your anger isn't getting us anywhere. Alright?
-
Yes, please calm down. Leave the other threads out of this little argument *or whatever it is*, okay? I don't even know why you're so upset :c
-
This isn't even my account lmao. It belongs to a girl called Kass. She sucks. I don't really give a poopers about Skull lol
-
Please watch the language.
You're obviously upset about something, is this really about the game or is it just getting at your friend and trying to get her banned?
Do you want to talk calmly about the issues In PM so someone can help you out with whatever is going on?
-
Alright, buddy. What is your problem? Getting 3 perfectly okay threads locked from your childish whining? Yer not even scaring people anymore. ERROR 404 has been inactive for months now, and are tired of FeralHeart mayhem. Besides, you are clearly young and inexperienced, and they would benefit nothing by having you as a quote unquote ally. PEOPLE ARE TAKING YOU EVEN LESS SERIOUSLY NOW THE MORE YOU SPAM. Now good day to you, and back to significant conversation.
Anyway, back on topic, I like the new maps a lot. I do miss the feeling of the old maps, yes, but overall I welcome the changes of the new update.
-
Alright. This thread was for calm, polite, and intelligent discussion, let's please try to keep it that way and get back to the original topic of the thread. Decomposed is being very calm and reasonable here and willing to help you out, I suggest accepting their offer and talking to someone about all this.
Oh the topic of the thread, I agree with you. You're 100% right, and I know its hard to accept change, especially one like this that's sudden and large, but I'm sure many people will get used to it. A lot of people won't as well, but thats perfectly alright as well. I just try to stay open-minded about all this.
-
I love the update personally. It feels very refreshing.
Also Seaside Grove is great.
-
The game is lovely ^^~
-
Gee, that hacker really needs to go to the calm down corner.
-
This isn't even my account lmao. It belongs to a girl called Kass. She sucks. I don't really give a poopers about Skull lol
KopaVitani417, You've been asked to stop on numerous occasions. If you don't like it, don't complain about it and drop it. This is getting a bit ridiculous now. Leave others alone and let yourself out if this is how you're going to treat the situation. Life wont always go how you want it. You have to learn to live with it. You can't satisfy everyone, that's just the way it goes.
