Title: Redirects
Post by: Jango_Fett on June 10, 2016, 09:17:20 pm
Okay so for about a week or so, every single time I had clicked 'Forum' on the front page, a second tab would open up by itself to a potentially malware ridden site.

Now it's frequented to every time i click a button to take me to a thread or something else on the site.

It even happened when I went to type in this thread's title.

I don't think this is a problem on my end as it only(and I mean only) happens on this site.

Is this happening for anyone else or is this just me having the bad luck of attracting virus-infested files?

Edit: Now it's when I click anything on this site.
Not.
Cool.

are they supposed to create tabs of their own?

I'm not talking about the weirdly underlined words with ads contained inside, I mean it's creating tabs to ads/virus sites.

It does that to me sometimes. Usually on my phone most often but I quickly just hit the back button and it still works fine.
Happens to me on my chrome than Firefox though.

I don't believe there is anything to worry about. I believe Raz is messing around with the advertisements and trying to make sure only appropriate ads show up on the forums. Ads are definitely annoying, but they're very important to gain revenue for the upkeep of the game and site. As long as you just x out of the tabs, nothing bad should happen to your computer. You could also go into chrome settings and disable pop-ups to see if that stops them from coming up. c:

That's my default, and it didn't do anything when I double-checked.

Regardless, I got adblock and the problem is solved I suppose.
Sad I had to do that in order to be extra-safe with protecting my computer.
