I'll choose the western cartoons. I won't particularly say they are superior, I just seem to enjoy it more (cheesy 60's cartoons, hint hint)
It's going to be interesting how this thread will go.

Western. It's a lot more expressive than anime and the styles vary a ton. I love all that they do with character design and colors and stuff --- and over simplified backgrounds can be just as beautiful (if not more) than those exquisitely painted anime backgrounds. I also hope to work for one of the studios one day, so there's that too!

Western. They just look so fluid and realistic (When animated that way.)  Anime is bae, but, in most anime, the movement is just rare, but their both great!

I would have to say Western animation because not only they are unique in style and stuff but i don't really watch anime anyway.

Since most are siding with Western & since I rarely get to see much of it anymore, I am going with  Anime. Love the styles, characters and even the plots and junk for some of them. ~

Both Anime/Japanese animation and Western animation has it's fantastic classics (Disney, Studio Ghibli, etc). But, if I had to pick one then I would pick Western animation. I personally see more variety and in most cases creativity in the western world of animation.
