All i have done is downloaded it via the web setup, thats a completely new character also. I havnt added any textures, or marking packs at all. Please help :(
Edit: I reinstalled it for the 3rd time, still get the black. I then tried the torrent download, still got the black. I dont know what to do now.

Try changing your rendering system first...if that doesn't work, just try a fresh reinstall.
-
I just changed my rendering from Direct3D9 to OpenGL, nothing changed when i restarted.
Ive also already reinstalled it twice :(

This is a short tutorial on getting out of the void when you first log into the updated game, as this is an issue with many users.
If you log into the new update, and it looks like the picture above, there's no need to worry. Just a few simple steps will hopefully get you back on track.
First of all, make sure you have downloaded the update, which can be found here: Downloads (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=23&Itemid=40) (If you do not download the update, your character will be in the black map regardless.)
After doing so, go to http://feral-heart.com/login/ (http://feral-heart.com/login/) and you should see this screen:

Log into your account when prompted. You should see a screen with a list of your characters' names, like so.
Select 'Reset Home' for all of your characters, multiple times if you wish. Then, select 'Go Home' for each character.
Go back to http://feral-heart.com/login/ (http://feral-heart.com/login/) and log into your account straight from there. Without minimizing your tab, open up your updated game and hop on your character. Everything should be good to go.
Hope your problem will be solved soon, good luck.
All credit goes to Edolicious (Shadowtooth) for the amazing tutorial!

I just tried all that, did everything correct and its still black. ;; Why does it hate me, ah.
-
Also, when i try and make a character 'go home'. It has a '?' in where to go, and then says 'cannot find map file.'
-
Is your character that you are using in a custom map by chance?
-
You might have some files missing. Try uninstalling and reinstalling again. Also, make sure your antivirus ( if you have one ) isn't eating up the files.
-
No it shouldn't be, i sent them all home by using the instructions above. I also created a completely new character, so it should've spawned at the lonely cave. ;;
Ill have a look at the antivirus now, could i please have a download link for the web setup? Whenever i click on it in the download section, it tells me im in some private area.

You can try this:
The Magical Fixer!:
Uninstall the game completely
Re-download New installers
Install the game with the new installers!
50% Success rate since the launch of FH! :D
Download link for the web setup (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=33&Itemid=40)
Also, do make sure to avoid double posting in the future. Use the edit button instead.

Also, in case that it still brings you up to that page ( like it did with me ) try this link out.
Click Me ~! (http://www.mediafire.com/?7b69j3pe2u6d9x0)
-
Yeah, if that happens - try the link that @Hakumi gave above.
3. You might have double particles, or other particle problems.
- You should also check for doubles in the object files.
What you have to do is go to your particle folder (by default: My Computer -> C: Drive -> Feralheart -> Media -> Particles).
Look at your .particle files. See any with a _0, _1, etc. behind their name? If so, delete them. These are copys automatically made (for some wierd reason I don't know yet - maybe a glitch?) and therefore are uneeded. Be sure you don't delete your main stuff tho, don't kill the original particle template.
-
It's important to note that 1.15 is a setup, not a patch. If you had FH already installed, it is best to rename the current FH folder to something like "OldFeralHeart" if you have files you need to keep. If not, you could just uninstall and delete it.
The important part is that you install using a fresh install, not overlapping it onto an existing FeralHeart.
This is the best way to avoid any issues.
The next best thing would be to not use the Web Setup, and perhaps go for the torrent:

I have reinstalled it twice now, also tried doing it via the torrent way. It still hasn't fixed the black, also i checked out the particles and there are no double up glitches, so hm. Is there anything else i can do? ://
-
It could be that the antivirus or something is eating up those important files. Make sure FH is allowed through the antivirus and make sure it doesn't delete the folders.
-
Okay so, i turned off firewall with my antivirus, reinstalled it again - no luck. I just wanna play it again, ah.
-
Could you tell us which folder you installed it in?
-
It goes to, 'This PC - Acer (C:) - Program files (x86)' Thats it, im positive thats where my old FH went. But i got a new laptop, so im not sure if thats suppose to install there.
-
Install it in a different folder. The (32), (64) folders will require you to start the game in administrator mode in order to access certain files.
You could always right click on the launcher and start in administrator mode, however that just seems extremely tedious. You're better off re-locating it.
-
You are a genius, it works! Thank you so much! Ah, you're honestly a life saver. All i had to do was run it in admin, thank you ah.
-
Always happy to help. c:
Keep in mind to install it in a different folder if you get tired of launching it in administrator mode.
Locking this.
