Adding onto what Kynvuu said, try adjusting the video settings to more accurately fit
your screen dimensions and rendering system. From what I've personally experienced,
Open works better on Mac, and Direct with PCs, but that's not always the case, so play
with it a little bit.
Also, could you clarify a bit about what you mean by the game "hanging" on you? Is it freezing,
is the tab disappearing, or is it put into eternal none response?
Usually when the game starts up, it'll sometimes do that not responding message ( screen will grey out / white out a bit faintly ) and then proceed to load, whether or not you click it unless it decides to crash. With me it rarely does that ( the crashing part that is ) so that might not be an issue or something that can be fixed.
As for the adjusting of the size / changing of the systems, revert both Cryptic & Kynvuu's posts. Sometimes messing with the window's size manually instead of in-game from the options can do that.
