Title: Nobody else can see presets, what step am i missing?
Post by: Kuri on August 23, 2016, 08:24:57 pm
If the files were assembled in the folder, Export button is pressed and a .FHP files is created and given to the people who wanted to the characters as they appear.  The others place the .FHP file in correct location and do full restart, yet nobody else sees them, only the default character.
What step am i missing in this process?

Make sure the name of the .fhp file is correct. Letters have to be capital and the numbers have to be right, otherwise they won't work.

All the letters capital?  i have yours and they are only capital as they appear in your name.

I believe they are referring to the fact that the file and login need to match.
The game doesn't force you to capitalize any of your user when you login. For example, I can login as:
Phloxenfree
phloxenfree
PhlOxEnFrEE
etc.

The game allows this, but if you export a preset as Phloxenfree_1.fhp, then I need to login specifically matching that, as Phloxenfree.

Tested different name/login combo's.  Someone else tried to appear as a character i made for them and i could see them but... they couldn't see me.  Both wearing the same thing though.  Maybe i'm just bugged.

What's the name of the exported preset file that floofs are downloading?

"players name_6.FHP"

What exactly is the name, with y'er username? Is it "Kuri_6.fhp" like y'er forum's user?

Where are they placing the preset file? It should go in "presets" not "exports" or "My_Presets".

Yes, exactly.

And they are f'er sure placing the file in the "presets" folder? If so, check y'er download- it could be a faulty upload.

'Ave then read to ye the fine name after they download it. It could be that they're getting duplicated files "Kuri_6.fhp(2)" instead of just "Kuri_6.fhp".

Turns out the ones i make for others display just fine but don't work for me is because the game doesn't know if i log in with capital letters or not.
Don't know how to fix that.

To fix that, enter y'er user (when y'er going to export the preset) the way ye would to normally log in. So if ye enter lowercases when ye log in, do that.

I'm not sure if that's what ye meant or not, but y'er situation sounds rather odd. I've never come across this before.

Me either, but no matter what i type as i log in, 50% of players see me with a capital letter, 50% don't.

It could be their computer, or their vision- lol! Some may think 'tis lowercase, but they're really seeing a capital "K".

Perhaps if ye send me the files, I can export it to y'er username and see if that works? Maybe 'tis just y'er computer that is 'aving problems exporting the file?
