Title: Guilty Pleasure Songs?
Post by: Wyldercat on September 09, 2016, 09:38:43 pm
We all have those songs that're cringy, explicitly raunchy, part of a long dead trend, or just plain awful. No lyin'. We all have them.

So, some of my shameful songs that I can't help but earworm or sing in the shower are:
Sailor Song by Toy-Box
Any latino pop song
All About That Base by Meghan Trainor
.. LMFAO's old songs (I'm so sorry)
Booty by Jennifer Lopez (its got a good beat okay)
Psy
Anaconda (again good beat)
Baby Got Back by Sir Mixalot (it's a CLASSIC, you hear?)
Gwen Stefani

I feel disgusting for givin' into such music as opposed to my typical indie or alternative tastes, but... I just can't stop addin' these to my playlists.

Oh gosh, I guess most of m'music that I'd normally listen to would be considered "cringe-worthy" by most. I do enjoy a good old 80's beat and some old 2000's songs. Also a lot of underground artists and girl bands. Heh. xD

XD The Sailor Song is so me
Gimme More - Britney Spears
Maneater - Nelly Furtado
Buttons - Pussycat Dolls
Evacuate The Dancefloor - Cascada
Heaven - DJ Sammy
Everytime We Touch - Cascada (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWGjNr35rhY) <Click the link lol. Pretty much me with any of these songs

I'm so glad i'm not alone. A lot of these songs seem so out of place in the rest of my music. This is just the tip of the iceberg my friend

Och, I'm pretty sure I have some

-Some Spice Girls
-Billy Joel (He good tho)
-Jonathan Richman
-80's Dance phase David Bowie (Bowie is still Bowie no matter what)
-Will Smith
-Some old Britney Spears songs
-Cringe worthy Jeff Beck
-Popish phase Sergei Gainsborough (and similar French musicians)
-Early 2000's cartoon intros
-Frank Zappa (Also good)
-Alice Cooper
-Cryoshell
-And a bunch of German songs by various artists
-Corny old Sparks songs

That is more than I've expected, gee.

My guilty pleasure song would probably have to be "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore. The rhythm is very catchy despite some of the more distasteful lyrics. The beat sticks pretty strong in your mind, too.

Raps will always be catchy. I have a friend who sings crongey love longs alot and I tell ya she's bad at it.

I always thought Uptown Funk was catchy in its more popular days.

I like Shakira songs. Especially "Whenever, Wherever."
I like Gangnam Style.
I like some of the more popular Linkin Park songs.
And that's about it, since I don't listen to popular songs that much nowadays...

Meh. I like S&M by Rihanna. One of my favorite songs to listen to. I also like For Your Entertainment by Adam Lambert, Bruises and Bitemarks(Sort of it's not my favorite and I forget who it's by), and several creepy vocaloid songs by Gumi(The Fox's Wedding, I am the Celebration of Two, etc).
