Not sure if this post belonged in game or forum help, but I assumed game...
Anyway, I've been trying to make a map for a roleplay that I'm planning, but whenever I try to load the height map, FeralHeart crashes. I made the heightmap the way I have always made them, and there was never a problem before the update. Is there an updated map tutorial? Am I doing something wrong? This is what I do:
1. I make a 513 x 513 grayscale image in Gimp (2.8 I believe)
2. I draw on all the valleys/hills/etc.
3. I name it as insertmapname.png into FeralHeart > media > terrains.
4. I open FH, then go into the creative den > map maker.
5. I click the world tab and type insertmapname.png into the "Terrain Height Map" box, making sure all the caps are correct, no spaces/typos, etc.
6. FeralHeart crashes?
Try naming it like this: MapNameTerrain.png
Gimp 2.8? Are you sure your heightmap is being saved as a .png and not something else? Are you making sure that layers and transparency are turned off? Also double check that the size is correct.
It seems like the game knows the file exists (other wise it wouldn't crash) but something from outside the game went wrong.
Edit: Also make sure the alpha channel is turned off for map making.
This has been happening to me, however Kuris technique worked for me as well.
Have you made sure you saved it correctly?
Hope you find the problem soon! Then you'll be back on your paws editing in no time! ^~^
