I have been making a map recently, and I wanted to add some more items with add-ons. Unfortunately, even with about 2-3 hours of research and testing, I can't seem to get the downloaded items to show in the Object Maker.
Maybe it's my lack of understanding of what meshes/objects are, but I couldn't find a tutorial about how to add new items to maps (that weren't outdated, at least), and experimenting with the files didn't do squat. Could someone help, perhaps? ;-;

Make sure you're placing the files in FH > media > objects > my_objects
Each object you downloaded should have come with a .mesh and .material file. In the object maker, place those in exactly as the file

I forgot to put it in 'My_Objects'... oops... I placed all the files in there now.
But oddly enough, it doesn't seem to be working? I opened the Object Maker after that, and typed the .mesh and .material files after clicking a random object, yet it either doesn't do anything, or says it cannot be found. I was looking at the files when I was typing it in, so I don't think it was spelled or capitalized incorrectly?

Make sure you're typing in the file extension along with the name too. So if it was Tree.mesh, make sure to include the .mesh in the box. Also make sure you're clicking the "add new" button after typing those in.

Take a look at this tutorial, pay no mind to the top bit about file placement as it's out of date.

I've pressed "add new", and the .mesh file did work. But for some reason when I did that, a different .material file popped up in that section, and now the item is extremely small. And when I try to add the original file, it just changes back to the other one... I can give a screenshot if needed?
Man, FeralHeart really despises me today.... :,D

That material thing happens to me. By clicking on the mesh so a white outline box and typing a new material in the material box and pressing enter it changes to what i wanted. If that works then you can save it as something else.

Ah, this all is a simple fix- and no worries about its size! Ye can change the size of the mesh when in the Map Maker.
To add on to what Kuri has said, to change the texture of the mesh, ye can also: find the right Material file. Open it with notepad and see what texture has been put there. From there, ye can change it to any image file ye want.
Hope this fixes y'er problem. If anything is confusing, I'd be happy to delve in a deeper explanation.

Alright, well, I kind of figured it out... sort of. The item is super tiny, but at least it works this time. :,D This'll do, thank you all very much for your help! I really appreciate it, haha.

Glad the issue has been fixed, I'll be locking this
