So I've never had an issue with opening FH in like the six - eight years I've played it, but I redownloaded it after the newest update and I can't open it? When I open it, of course it opens the rendering systems, ive messed with them and what not, ran as administrator and more. But it crashes soon as it tries to launch the game?

There's a strong possibility you could be missing a file or one of the files in the installer became corrupted. You could try a complete reinstall of the game and see if that helps.
Also! Have you looked into updating your graphics/video card drivers?

- Firstly, make sure you're logging into the Login Page (https://feral-heart.com/login/index.php) and keeping this tab open throughout your gameplay; as that establishes a connection with the game itself.
If you're experiencing crashing such as the 'Feralheart.exe has stopped working' then it could be something missing from your download and a few files haven't been installed and/or common issues such as particle duplicates, although I would recommend paying a visit to >This Thread< (https://feral-heart.com/smf/index.php?topic=10423.0) and seeing if you've got everything you need for gameplay i.e correctly placed files and etcetera.

Have you maybe updated your operating system? Example; upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8, or just updated your current operating systerm. Either way, it is possible that your game could be having compatibility issues. In this case, I suggest you change FeralHeart's compatibility to suit to what you are using.
1. Go to your desktop and right click the FeralHeart.exe Icon, then select 'Properties'.
(If it isn't on your Desktop, go to Local Disk (C:) \\ FeralHeart use the same method/instruction as shown below).

You should hopefully see this, or something similar depending on what operating system you are using.

2. Go to the 'Compatibility' tab and check the box for 'Run this program in compatibiliry mode for' in order to activate the dropdown box.

3. As seen above, Windows XP (Service pack 3) is chosen for me by default. However, what you need to do is find the right compatibility that will run your game. Be sure to find the right compatibility for your operating system. If not, you should probably attempt to experiment a little with different configurations.
Hopefully this solution will get your game back up and running.

This has happened to me a few times.
Make sure no files are missing, but if there was there would be a DLL. error popping up when you open I believe.
The only other thing that comes to my mind is reinstalling if it comes to it, with patience, don't rush anything so it installs every item and file it needs to have. Also,
Make sure DirectX has it's most recent update or else it may not work with the game.
Good luck! <3

Another thing that causes an instant crash at startup is having duplicated particle files. Go to "FeralHeart > media > particles" and make sure none of them look like "particleName_01" the "_01" part indicates which one is the duplicate.
