You could just be downloading the wrong pack all together, >this< (http://www.mediafire.com/file/ixwm166w5vp7ed8/Legendary+Markings+v4.1.zip) is the correct pack that most, if not everyone, uses.
After that has been downloaded you need to go into the folder and put them into the MAIN FeralHeart Folder.

If it asks to replace anything then say Yes/Replace All!
If you've done all of the steps instructed above you can try restarting your game or changing your SubRendering System.

I've had the mass markings for years, and with one of the more recent updates it lost some of GoldChocobo's game markings. I was trying to re-install those. When I try to change my rendering system, I'm only given the option of OpenGL--should I just uninstall + reload the game and see where that gets me?
Well you can change your SubRendering System in game, unless that's what you're already trying to do, let me show you.
Changing SubRendering Systems IN GAME:
So when you have FeralHeart open, you go onto Options (Press ESC)
And this should come up: Then click Options

After that click "Video"
And then the first option should be Rendering SubSystem.
Then click Direct3D9 And then restart your game and see if it works.
As for changing it outside of the game, I don't know.
But you could try re-downloading your game as that seems to work with most people.
