Title: Why a cursortex.png?
Post by: FlyingGrass on June 22, 2017, 05:46:08 pm
Why is there a cursortex.png and why does it look like lava?
Does it have anything to do with the cursor at all?

I've never seen the texture in game anywhere and I doubt it's for the cursor.
Interesting.

Ah a very good question. Infact, if you look closely at the cursor image itself, you will see that the lava texture is actually applied over the cursor itself to give it a perhaps "broken sandy" type look. As to why it is a separate image, I am unsure of, but I do believe it has something to do with that overlay texture.

I believe that texture is also used when you click on the ground somewhere and a little bouncy arrow pops up and your character starts running towards it.

You can also make it in object maker if that's interesting at all, and it uses the cursorMat by default.

Thank you! ;D
Before reading this, I thought it was an unused texture that could be deleted! The cursortex file is no longer headed for the recycle bin!

I'll go ahead and lock this up as you seem satisfied with the answer. If you have any more questions, please let us know! c:
