I can log into my game and get into the map but after 5 seconds it says it loses connection to map server and chucks me out... what should i do?
-
The map server isn't down, although you could be getting stuck in one of the maps when trying to enter. If this is the case, I would suggest resetting your character's home spawn and then sending your character home. To do this, go to the front/main page of the FH website >> User Panel, and select "Reset Home" and then "Go Home" to the character you're having trouble connecting. You should find one of your character's names on a list. Wait a few minutes before trying to enter that map again and try again. It's possible you're just experiencing a small freeze in the map. c:

Thanks for replying. I tried this but its happening on every single map, saying im losing connection or crashing my game. Its really irritating me, Im sure it isn't my internet.

It could just be really bad lag, in which case go to the options menu in game and in the video section, turn off Water Reflections and or lower the screen size. Also try switching from Direct3D9 to OpenGL or vice versa, my windows 10 has troubles playing using Direct3D9 (it tends to crash for no apparent reason) but plays just fine using OpenGL for example.

Ive tried everything you have said, including water reflections and changing from direct3D9, nothing is working. I reinstalled FH, restarted my computer AND router...is it my internet in general? This has never happened before.

Try some of the things listed here: https://feral-heart.com/smf/index.php?topic=61850.0

- If you're using a laptop, try placing yourself closer to the modem, as this might give you a stronger signal.
- If you got more than one computer or other devices also using the internet, try turning them off if they're not in use.
- Make sure there's no security software blocking the game.
Open up your Control Panel, located in the Start menu. Depending on which Operating system you use and which layout, it might look differently. But Windows firewall should be in the category "security," or just find the text, "Windows firewall" or "Allow a program through windows firewall". This should take you to the correct place.
Once there you'll get a new window with a list of programs. Try to locate FeralHeart.exe in there and add it to exceptions by marking the checkbox. If you can't find it, and the game to the list by yourself by pressing "add program."
- Test to make sure that your IP matches up.
Go to https://feral-heart.com/myip/ (https://feral-heart.com/myip/) and that will show you the IP address that you're connecting to the panel with.
Then, download www.feral-heart.com/myip.zip (http://www.feral-heart.com/myip.zip) and run it. When it's complete, see what IP address it gives to you and check if it matches with the first IP address. They must match! If they don't, you're probably using a proxy and you have to disable it. Do not post that IP address anywhere!
