Hello! Just wondering about the game 'Cereal Soup'.
It's an animal game, similar to FeralHeart. While I fully intend to be more active on FeralHeart (since, after all, it's a game I've been playing for many years, with many amazing memories associated with it)... I am considering joining Cereal Soup as well.
The only reason I consider it, is because the group I'm most active with, a rather popular group (not going to say the name, since I don't know for sure if the group wants me to mention it here. But if anyone from my group is here, hey, it's me! Eon! OwO) is moving to that new game.
So... what do you guys know about Cereal Soup? Your experiences with it? Anything else you can tell me? Tribe info? Anything else I should know? (I looked through the site already, but there seems to be so much I'm a little confused? If anyone could sum it up/simplify, that'd help a lot :'D)
Most importantly... is it worth it?

I joined that game on and off. Deleted accounts and rejoin. I really enjoy the models and the people there; very nice people. However, the staff are very active - that's for sure. I admire them about that, however, they don't seem show any sign of helpfulness. I asked for a few guidance in the game, and i was completely ignored. But overall, im not saying they're bad people.

It's an interesting experience to say the least. You can hunt around and be either a canis, felis,
suricate or a raptor ( which is coming soon ). You have to pay premium ( once last I heard ) in order for you to have a preset slot.. or you can win it some community contest I believe. Do keep in mind that's in alpha stage so there's some glitches and bugs here and there. Some things aren't out yet, like some models that you see in certain maps. If you wanna be a canis / felis you would have to first locate the skulls and sniff. More features are coming out and the community ( at least the forum side ) can be pretty confusing so I wouldn't be surprised if some things were overlooked.

Cereal soup is a great game that I've been following for two years now and I honestly recommend it. It's still in early alpha though so you are able to see only a very tiny portion of the features that will be in the final game. More features will be added later on and they are worth the wait. The community is awesome and the staff are very friendly and transparent.
Currently you are able to play as a mustelid (technically suricates), canine, and feline. Pretty soon they're going to add raptors (birds) that allow you to fly on command which is quite unique to an animal game. Many more animals are being planned for release.
However, the staff are very active - that's for sure. I admire them about that, however, they don't seem show any sign of helpfulness. I asked for a few guidance in the game, and i was completely ignored. But overall, im not saying they're bad people.

My first impression with the head admin wasn't the best and I still have yet to meet the rest so I can't say much about the staff but the game does look really beautiful and cool and I would recommend playing it for the beautiful graphics, the gameplay, and the other people.

Like any other game, people will have their mixed opinions about the staff but I can't say much about the CS staff because I don't know them that well. Most of their community seems happy with their staff though so that should speak well enough for itself.
The game is quite lovely. I've tried it out myself a couple times. The models are beautiful and there's a lot of customization options. Currently there are three playable species those being the (surricates or meerkat critters and the canines and felines). The game is still a WIP so you may encounter some performance issues and occasional glitches but overall it's playable and the dev is constantly working on patching things. There's a lot of things planned for it and you're welcome to give your own ideas and feedback there.
During my short time there I felt that the community was fairly friendly and helpful. It's very easy to make friendships and folks are generally helpful.
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes animals and animal games like FH/IT etc.

Don't worry, I'll still be more active in FeralHeart ;D But I'm gonna try it out, for my group.
(I've heard that the lead admin of CS apparently isn't a huge fan of those who play both FeralHeart and Cereal Soup... which makes literally no sense, but hey -shrug- I'll try it out. And I'm gonna make it clear I play both right off the bat, so I know what I'm getting into haha)

That's not true. I know the head admin and they're actually really nice and don't really care what game you play besides CS. Just don't act stupid or do something harmful.

i know of it but from what little i know, it doesn't offer the customization or music/film project ability FH has.

Thanks guys! I tried it out. The controls are a bit of a pain, but I'm sure I'll get used to them. The customization is... eh, like, I really the whole 3 markings and a couple scars thing, but aside from that, I mostly just want to make a FH preset, which I can't do unless I got $20 bucks to throw at a game I've been playing for a day -w-
Met a really nice person who showed me around Caverns of Order, though! ^^ I'll continue to try it out... but don't worry, FH will always be my top priority ^^

If i EVER get the time to play CS, ill do it.
But right now my life is like.. irma, causing trouble and making everything rough!
Wont hold me back when i am through this, haha.

I think I've played it once or twice. Never really had a great experience with the staff or community but I don't judge games based on that.
Overall, the models and maps are quite nice, but as Kuri said, there's a lot less user-customization you can actually do to the game which is a downside.

I kinda feel like there's a bit of comparing CS to FH going on. I guess I sort of understand why, but it's a different game that wasn't intended to have the same features.
Anyway. Beautiful game and creating characters is fun. I had a bad experience in the original discord chat that was closed down though. Not with the CS staff, that I know of, or some of them might be staff now, idk. I think they were close to the staff, at least. I haven't really been keeping track ever since... Anxiety issues. Which is ironically (but also only partially) what the bad experience was about. I got thrown into some drama going on... :/
However, don't let my bad experience stop you. A lot of people enjoy CS and say the community is awesome.

Thanks! ^^ For the comparing FH and CS thing, usually I dislike comparing games, but right now I'm kinda comparing just to see how CS works in comparison to FH o3o It helps to learn how the other game works more quickly!

Mmm I've played a bit of Cereal Soup, though not enough to have a strong opinion about it!
The game is very beautiful graphically, and I really enjoy the character models, the ability to customize them so complexly, and the different sounds that are implemented into the game. However, as others have stated before, the controls are a bit wonky. A get quite a number of glitches as I play, though they usually aren't major or difficult to fix. The game is still under development, of course, and so these will probably be fixed over time. In general, it's a pretty interesting game!! Pretty different from FH, too. Fun world to run around in, though I've found RPing to be a bit more difficult to maintain in CS. c:

Well if you went to the downloads and downloaded the game and all, Usually you make another folder ( or extract the zip ) and leave it in the downloads. I tried moving the icon onto my desktop but apparently the files need to be together ( icon and folder ) or else it won't work.
But to keep this relevant, yes the game is quite the experience. I like the aspects of it o;

Ahh I can't tell you from my personal experience as I haven't actually played the game yet due to my incredibly laggy computer. I'm more active on the forum. (The players and staff are sooo nice ^_^) You can watch Creature Features' reviews of Cereal Soup. In my opinion, it looks really cool and according to what I've heard from staff in the forum, it's gonna have some rather interesting features added :3
Also the Creator moderates the Ideas/Suggestions Thread to see if anything there seems like something worth adding into the game, so it's more likely that she will see your suggestions and incorporate them into the game :3
But yeah, I'd say it's worth giving a shot. From what I've seen, it's the best animal MMO I've ever come across! :3 (Besides FH and AJ of course XD)

Mmph, used to 'play' it back in the day.
Didn't play much as it was.. It has a certain charm that I just don't mesh with.
Didn't really go into the community side due to a strange encounter with one of their developers, so I can't speak for it.
The game is decent, not good but also not really bad.
It's very indie and rough even for a game two years into the development cycle, but it's fair for the ambitious goals they're set up for themselves.

FYI Cereal Soup recently had a data wipe. Everyone's account is gone if they haven't checked back since the 16th.
