Title: Is a howl/roar almost as contagious as a yawn?
Post by: FlyingGrass on October 22, 2017, 07:56:07 pm
Do you get the urge to howl/roar whenever you hear a howl/roar?
I just had the thought that howling/roaring may be like FH's yawn, hence all the spurts of distant howling/roaring that pops up every now and then.

I'm wondering this as I feel like using the howl/roar action every time it's used nearby.

It is contagious.  Partly an urge to communicate over distance i suppose. And partly the "Me too" or "I'll answer you" instinct.

usually when i'm tabbing and i hear a roar/howl in the game it makes me want to immediately click back into the game, i'm not entirely sure why i do this though. but no, i personally don't get any urges to roar/howl back.

I don't. I mute every sound of FH. But I do spend hours spamming the howl button on
purpose.

Interesting topic.~ I have to say that I hadn't thought about this before, but I do tend to notice that when once person howls/roars, the area is soon filled with many of that sound. I don't often join in, myself, but perhaps I should, if it's a secret feral communication. c:<

Not gonna lie, I nearly forgotten what the sound sounds like sometimes..
Most occasions it's actually not that bad and it even makes me sleepy...
Other times I just don't mind it.. But as for the urge to join in.. only whenever me and my friends aren't around anyone and are just goofing off.
Lol.

I too click into the game immediately after/during a howl/roar. Listening for howls/roars might be a great way of recruiting whilst tabbing out, despite all the false alarms there'll be.

back in the day if someone roared once in bonfire, half the island would join in

that's when i recall joining in on that strange chorus, other than that, nada.
