Title: Height map problem
Post by: Cearr on November 16, 2017, 09:31:45 pm
So I just created this height map for a new map I am making, but every time I try to load it in map maker, my game crashes. I made sure that the height map is in grayscale, that it doesn't have layers, etc. Anyone know what is happening, and how to fix it?  :'(

- It must be saved into a PNG format.
- It can only consist of 1 layer. If you use more the game will crash upon importing it. Make sure you flatten/merge the layers on the image before saving it.
- The image must be saved/edited in grayscale mode and cannot consist of or use colours.
- The Image Size should be even on both size, the standard size is 513 x 513 pixels.
- The use of "Alpha Channel" should be left unmarked/turned off.

Also, make sure there aren't any spaces in the file name.

Adding on,
If everything checks out, make sure there is absolutely NO white areas.
That can also cause your map to crash.
You can have a colour that's close to white on the scale but it can't be flat out white if that makes any sense.

Oh wow. I was about to say all that checks out until you said something about the color thing. I did not know that? It never used to be like that. Do you by any chance know how to get rid of the white coloring in the picture, without me having to redo it completely?

Well,
You can probably just darken the areas where you have the white parts if you have it on a different layer ( ? )
I did something like that, like brought the white down a bit so it was slightly dark then the flat out white and it seemed to work just fine c:
