Title: Linux (Debian-based Zorin OS)
Post by: lol_lions on January 19, 2018, 07:43:22 pm
My hard drive failed. Microsoft said contact HP for my windows 7 product key. HP refused to give me, stating "thats old and outdated buy a new computer." This computer cannot run windows 10 due to having an outdated, non-UEFI bios. I don't have the money for an all new windows 10 computer so please don't tell me "just run it on windows" because currently I can't, sorry if this comes off rude.
Started Feralheart using Wine, it starts, but uh.. (https://i.imgur.com/hcaqRho.png) Suggestions? Currently I have the FH folder located in ~/Desktop/Windows. I assume it isnt loading something properly. Also I'm using an nvidia geforce 9100 on legacy proprietary drivers. Will be upgrading that soon however..

Try changing the rendering system? That's the only suggestion I have, I'm afraid =0

Only option available is OpenGL. No option to change. DirectX doesn't show in the drop down menu.

IF you can get in-game, at least to the login screen, go to your options and change the rendering subsystem from in there then restart your game.

Was able to change the rendering through settings. It was slightly better, but only by a small amount. Also it froze so I had to manually reboot my computer. :c

Looks like a failure of the Grahpics chip to me, or corruption of the game models as your Hard drive crashed. Sadly i can't really tell what is going on since i don't know alot about your Bios, however, having a few books at hand i will dig through them and see if i can find anything to help you with.
EDIT; Do you have any other games you could test? if so, can you tell me if they have issues too?

It appears as if no 3D games will cooperate. 2D will, however, with 0 issues. My boyfriend who works in IT doesn't seem to think there's much wrong, but honestly if that's the case we're getting a new AMD graphics card soon to replace this old hunk of junk anyway, so i'll just wait it out.

Alright, hope i am right and it's just an issue with the graphic card. I hope this works out for you! <3
