Title: Bad Connection/Can't Stay In!

I don't know if it's my bad internet connection or game connection, but I keep looking at the internet, and it seems fine. But I can't even stay in maps for 5 seconds without losing connection! It's ruining my chances of roleplaying with my friends, and it's gotten so bad that one of my friends gave up and left! I am to the point of hitting the computer out of insanity because it won't let me roleplay! The login pages don't seem to be reloading themselves, but at one point, they were. Other times, they're not, and I STILL can't stay in the map! I'm in normal maps like Ficho or Cherika a lot. Please tell me WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?  >:(

Hello,
An old computer of mine used to kick me as it couldn't handle the load, I will tell you what worked for me at the time, hopefully it helps. At the login page for the game itself, there is the options tab.. click that, then click 'Video' and i switched that setting to OPENGL instead of DIRECT3D, and it seemed to work for me.

Now, another issue i had was with the login screen via the website. It would continue to log me out.
I found switching programs worked. (For example if using chrome to login via website, switch to windows explorer, and so on. Can't remember which one i was using at the time but i know switching fixed that issue.)

This is actually dealing with the in-game connection, not the laptop itself. The problem is that whenever I'm in the game for at least 1 second of try to get in, I get "Reconnecting" and "Failed to Connect to Map Server", or at the login screen, I get "Failed to Connect to Main Server". Half of the time, I can't even get into any maps because it gives me that same stupid message, and my internet seems perfectly fine.

Make sure to not minimize your browser (minimized browsers may cause the login tab to log you out)
Clear caches/history
Enable cookies
Disable proxies
Try another browser
Log in from a mobile device
Restart your router

Thank you all for the advice. My connection has suddenly started acting better. Maybe the server was just overloaded or something that day, idk...

Nope. It tricked me. Connection, that son of a.... Anyways, I made sure of all the above advice, but no dice! I'm still having the same problem.

I may have to leave FH :( My connection won't let me stay in the game anymore! IT JUST TOOK FH FROM ME! D;

I would try to turn the internet off of any device's not in use. :) Perhaps this will help. Xbox, playstation, all that big stuff used to cause my connection to be bad on our old network.

I found this on another website with people on other game having the same problem, but wanted to help out so here what it said! Hope it helps!

Reset your network devices to make sure your router hasn't become flooded with data.

Release and renew your IP and flush your DNS to resolve any network conflicts.

Update your drivers to resolve any compatibility issues.

If you're using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.

Try closing background applications to resolve any software conflicts.

ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING

Old network card drivers and settings may affect your connection in the games. Try troubleshooting your network card.

Check your network configuration to find any issues with your firewall, router, or port settings.

If you're using a VPN, try removing it.

Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.

Run a security scan to remove any viruses or malware infections.

Disable or temporarily uninstall any security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.

Old firmware on your modem and router can cause issues with complex game connections.

Now this is from a DIFFERENT game so not sure if it will work...The website thread was pretty old, but I hope it helps you out and doesn't cause any serious problems.

I have no idea how to do most of that... All I know is that the stupid in-game connection won't let me stay in the game. I got someone coming on Tuesday to see what's wrong with the internet motem, but even when the internet is working fine, the connection kicks me out!

Idk.. What's the point of getting on a game if I can't even stay in for a second!? I'm just gonna have to quit. I can't do it anymore. I tried EVERYTHING! There's seriously nothing that will get this stupid connection to stop kicking me and let me stay in the server! Maybe I am just gonna have to raise the white flag.

Also, make sure you refresh your 'Play game' page every so often. At times, it'll log you out and not show the little username or password errors until you refresh.

Feel free to lock this thread, I have made a 'goodbye' thread to replace it. If you see it, you'll know I have tried everything, and all that's left is to give up.
