Title: Two questions about groups.
Post by: FlyingGrass on September 23, 2018, 05:53:12 pm
In a large group, there's going to be at least one offline member, probably all of the time. If not all members of a group are online, does the plot carry on? Would the offline members feel they've missed out? Are the offline members not told about the roleplay that happened when they were offline?

And when most of the online members are in FH on the character in the group, should I announce that the group's nearly all here?

Hmm, this is a rather in depth question.

The only solution I can gather is have other means of communication, such as a Discord, Google spreadsheet/document, and/or forums. That way, you can create an activity ledger/absentee list for everything. I believe it's called a plot tracker? You can tell of the events that passed, so the absentee can know what's going on in the roleplay. :) Depending on what position said member holds, you could say everyone was present that needs to be present.

From what I know, the plot does carry onwards and usually the updates are posted on the sites/Discord/etc. I'm sure the offline members will find out from the updates on media and from the members telling it to them as well when they are offline or come back online.

Should you? If you'd like! I think doing that's great communication idea and would allow group members to hop online when everyone else was if they could. I did it before for my groups I had. c:
