howdy,
last night after I downloaded an animation pack [which worked great for about an hour or two] I crashed
I attempted to log back on, and everything went smoothly until I continuously crashed at the character selection part?
I tried to log on again today, and the same thing occurred.
could this be because of the animation pack, or something else?

Hey there! it's possible to animation pack you downloaded might be causing the game to crash, but it's strange since it worked fine for the first few hours. I'd recommend removing the animation pack from your game files and restarting your game to see if this solves the issue!

- Flipping through tabs can sometimes cause the game to randomly crash or when you have too many programs open at the same time while running FeralHeart.
- Perhaps you've installed content such as mods, markings, items, and/or textures improperly or they themselves are causing errors.
- Try running the game as an administrator.
- Make sure there's no security software blocking the game.
Open up your Control Panel, located in the Start menu. Depending on which Operating system you use and which layout, it might look differently. But Windows firewall should be in the category "security," or just find the text, "Windows firewall" or "Allow a program through windows firewall". This should take you to the correct place.
Once there you'll get a new window with a list of programs. Try to locate FeralHeart.exe in there and add it to exceptions by marking the checkbox. If you can't find it, and the game to the list by yourself by pressing "add program."

Hello, dande_lion, would you mind linking the animation mod you installed and post you computer's specifications here? Your game should not be having trouble with the animation (especially considering it ran normal initially) unless a file went missing or 'glitched out.' The fact that it crashed at the character selection screen indicates that something is wrong with the character model files and not the map/texture files, so that is a start. Hopefully this issue is not persistent and can be sorted out soon.
