hello! i need some help. i've never really been able to get the material to work when i
put a mesh into my game. i'm almost 99% sure i'm doing it wrong, but i can't find an
up-to-date tutorial on how to do it ):
-
Are you downloading someone else's meshes or putting your own converted/made meshes in?
-
hello!
i'm downloading someone elses meshes
-
Okay! So when you download them, does the download come with a .fho file, or is it a bunch of .mesh and .png files?
-
mesh and png files

So when you downloaded them, everything should've been placed in your FH>Media>My_Objects folder. Then you open the game, go into object maker, type the mesh file in there (object1.mesh). Under where it says material is where you'd put the material name for that object! Included in the download should've been .material files as well! So object1.mesh would have a material most likely named object1.material. You can open these material files in notepad and the name at the top is what you'd put in the material slot in the object maker.
In the screenshot below, what's in the red box is the part you'd type in your material slot.

it's still not working ):

What exactly is happening (or isnt happening)?
-
whenever i put in the mesh, i type "mesh.mesh"
i go into notepad and i copy the top line, the material,
and i put it into the object maker. then all that comes
out for the material is basewhite.
