Title: Maplestory Influence on Impressive Title?

I've been looking into this old MMO game called Maplestory, and it has/had a lot of similar mechanics to IT. Like having to kill things to get items and skills.
Maplestory came out first in 2003, while IT was released a few years later. Is it just coincidence, or could there have been some sort of influence?

More than likely! Or well I would not put it past of some inspiration and/or some influence. There is also Furcadia (http://"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furcadia") for the animal aspect. But most def stuff like Lion King/general that and early era Disney (iirc it was more so with feralheart too), and a bunch of different sources.

Ah yes, Feralheart and Impressive Title. The Frankenstein games!!  ;D
Hey, I remember Furcadia. I tried to play it but I didn't like how the regular, quadruped species were all paywalled and how your character had to have an original name.
