Title: Internal Errors with opening FeralHeart
Post by: Betrayal on June 11, 2011, 10:41:03 pm
There's something wrong with my 'rendering system' of some sort and now Feral Heart won't even open. I have tried re-installing it only one time because I don't want to overdo the downloads :o There's something wrong with my computer and it claims it can't find the OGRE rendering system/Direct 3D9 1_6_1 Please Help!  :)

Since it won't open, you gotta do it the other way. With the files. But it should be easy. So:
1: Open the FeralHeart folder
2: Open a file called "ogre" in notepad (it's a cfg file)
3: Erase what's in there
4: Put this in:
Code: [Select]
Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
Anti aliasing=None
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
VSync=No
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
5: Save it
6: Start up FH and see if it worked.

Hope this helps. (You both.) ^^

Double click it and when it asks what to do, say "select from list" and choose notepad. :)

Ugh, okay, open notepad and then click "File" then "Open..." then where it says what kind of files to look for, it'll say text documents, so use the drop down and change it to "All Files" then go into the "FeralHeart" folder, and open "ogre" THEN put that code in. ^^

*frown* That's the only way to change your rendering subsystem outside the game...

I'm also having the same problem; except for me it keeps saying something about 'Particle System Template with name 'Waterfall smoke' already exists'. And it tells me about something called Particle System Manager? o3o. -is very confused-

Change your rendering subsystem to OpenGL

Yeah, I have a problem with that too. I downloaded the new version and fully removed the old one. I have the Rendering Subsystem to OpenLG but it still says "Not Responding" and continues to keep on closing. Anything like that happened before?
