Ever since the 1.6 update, if I try to add new particles in object maker (using effect maker> particles) it says "______cannot be found!" even though i have the file in my particles folder. Can you help me please?
-
try putting it in default?
-
I used to have that problem too but I figured it out after all.All you have to do is open the particle file and write the name from there
Like for example , say you want to put the water splash particle.
You have to open water.particle and take from there the name.
Here have a screen shot because I suck at explaining xD

You don't have to do it with the water particle , do it with whatever particle you have.

I tried it, and no dice :( Thanks for the help, though, I appreciate.
-
What particle(s) are you using? If I can get it to work, I'll post something.
-
Maybe you're missing something from the particles?
-
If I try the bonfire or fireflies or something, it won't work. I can't even do Hammy's bee swarm.
-
Okay, so you should have 3 files for the bonfire particle. Image, Material, and Particle, all in your particles folder.
Then went to Object Maker>Effect Maker>Particle Then typed:
Bonfire
(Capital B)
And it didn't work?
-
So you have those :o?
I don't have any bonfire related particle in my particle folder ....
-
I double checked, Ruby, and I had everything right, its just that none of the particles I try to put thru object maker won't work.
-
@GotaCacel: Bonfire particles are from Impressive Title.
@GamerGirl: Then I'd reinstall, but you can wait and see if there are any other answers.
-
I also had the same problem, but I figured out by placing the files in My_Objects just as you would any more mesh, it worked. Perhaps try this? It should still work if you were to try it in the Particle tab of the Object maker, just as it would if the files were in the particles folder.

Stonestomper, this thread is from 2011.. don't bring up old threads. I'm sure this problem has been solved already.. no need to bring it back up.

Well, excuse me. >T I wasn't exactly paying attention to the date, but more of what the situation was.
