Title: Vocal Chat?
Post by: ShibaInuWolf on July 02, 2011, 06:33:53 pm
I know, some ppl don't liek it. But wouldn't be better if ppl could talk instead of writing 500 words and making ppl wait?

Do you mean sort of sayings words vocaly instead of typing?
Since on an Animal Planet game, you plug a microphone into the computer and you actually speak the words.

Maybe only in a party. When youre out of it, there would be voices non stop.

I'd prefer writing 500 words than chatting with my voice... I dunno, just my opinion, but I'd rather not talk to people of FH :P I mean, I keep hearing people cuss in general chat etc., and it drives me insane, and I certainly wouldn't like people shouting out curses in a vocal chat, even if it is in a party. It would also be kinda... I dunno... stupid to rp like that XD By the way you said, "typing 500 words", it sounded kinda like something used for roleplays, since most people don't type 500 words for a sentence if they are just talking randomly with friends :U

i don't know. voice over ip... maybe, like, you could only talk to party members and friends? but since it couldn't be easy to lypsinc, a headset icon should appear over the speaker to indicate that he is the one speaking. I don't prefer to talk, I hate my voice. but I wouldn't give  this a thumbs up nor thumbs down. good luck.

I would say only in Party.
BUT. Think about it. Voice chat is extremely difficult to moderate. I don't see this happening for that reason.
This is why we have Skype, kids!

I'm saying no because we don't need verbal spam as well as written spam. The game has enough of a troll/spammer problem.

One of the last things I'd like to hear is someone screaming swears or other vulgar things over Fluorite Plains.

No way, if you have ever played "I, Predator" you will understand how bad it is, and there are a lot of people in Flourite Plains so it would be like being in Tokyo during rush hour.

yeah no. I dont like it since people swear and stuff. If you want to chat then get Skype or another game (like WOW my brother plays it and is always talking on there with friends)

I don't agree with it, and am HIGHLY against it, but one thing came to mind when I was thinking about it...

There might actually be less people shouting swears in the vocal chat than in the written stuff. Think about it, a majority of them are probably idiot 12 year olds you get themselves a case of keyboard courage, and writing these things when they probably can't in real life. So they wouldn't risk saying them through the vocal chat because then their parents can hear them.

But it wouldn't stop it, and unfortuantly there would then be the poor souls who get told not to play by their parents because of the swearing they would now be able to HEAR being shouted.
