Title: missing base.material?
Post by: echelon666 on July 15, 2011, 05:14:17 am
"OGRE EXCEPTION(6:FileNotFoundException): Cannot locate resource resources/ogre/scripts/base.material in resource group General or any other group. In ResourceGroupManager::openResource at C:\Ogre_161_tag\OgreMain\src\ResourceGroupManager.ccp (line 753)"

Uhhhhh... what is this telling me?  o.o; This happend after adding a forest to one of my maps, closing FH, then reopening... Can I fix it without having to reinstall FH?

Best way to do when you know you did a change would be getting everything back as it were before it stopped working.

Error code is probably saying that it can't find any resource called base.material. And one or more files need that resource in that forest you added or something similar.

Maybe try removing the forest, or maybe move the map itself out of the FH game directory.

Trying to get everything back as it were is usually a good bet.

That didn't work... If I reinstall FH, is there any way to save my characters?

If you haven't solved it yet, another person had the same problem and this helped them:
Move all of your maps, meshes, and presets to a folder on your Desktop or anywhere else safe.
Then uninstall Feral Heart
Delete the entire Feral Heart folder. All of it.
Then try to re-install.

This happened to me and I realized it was object related. I moved all my objects into a back-up folder and deleted them from media >> objects and it worked fine. When I moved everything back it was missing base.material again. I came to the conclusion that to fix it I would need to remake all my objects by moving them back in, one by one until I put the wrong one in and it crashed again. e_e Its a long process but you can keep all your objects with you.

Same thing happened to me. Just uninstall your FH, and then go to your FH folder, and delete anything visible. Then, just re-install it.
