These are a few ideas that I came up with that just popped into my head while playing to make the game have a little more eye candy filled and for tools to be more helpful.
Float on Water Button - This idea is for the Map Maker. It's like the 'Place on Mesh' button except for water.
Ripples - Ripples! I noticed there are no ripples when you walk or swim through the water in FeralHeart like there was in Impressive title!
Splash - One for when you jump in the water, but not the same one that was in Impressive Title
Pawsteps in Water sound effect - Just thought it would be a bit cool to here the lapping of the water around your paws!
Rises and depressions Tool in Map Maker - Have you ever played Zoo Empire? There is a tool which you can drag around your map to make the ground have hills or holes. I think this would be a little more convenient then messing with Heighmaps!
Smooth Tool - To help smooth out those hills and make them less jagged.
Texture Tool - Like the idea above, only you have a tool to change the texture. Simply select the texture and drag your mouse around the map, anywhere where you dragged your mouse would have the selected texture.

Totally agree! Those are good ideas! :D They should make more objects to put in your maps too.

I like the splash and paw sound in water idea. They are probably fairly easy to make aswell.

I havent done that one game but I have done Zoo Tycoon 8D
That'd make life so much easyer, I really dislike the whole draw the terrain thingie DX
it's annoying. Like a preset without a UV ._.

I actually think Zoo Empire is a rip off of Zoo Tycoon, XD But I've only played Zoo Empire. But that's a whole other topic.

I like this idea SO MUCH.
Height maps have me completely lost, so that would be so much easier...my maps are so...BORING.
I REALLY hope they consider this.

I like the idea of the hill tool. I still cant figure out to make them in mapmaker, as well as proper bodies of water.

I like those ideas. What about fangs too so maybe you can make I do not know a um saber :-X really unsure about that idea though.

As the sound guy for Impressive Title, and now the sound guy for Feral Heart, I can tell you those requests are easily do-able. The paws in water may be a challenge, but I'm sure I can find a way to make it sound close.
As per your other requests, those are quite reasonable. Nothing too extreme, I'm sure they can be put in. I'll have words.

I agree with all of these ideas. Especially the easy hill and dip making. I cannot find the hightmap file in my computer, so this would be much better. And much more official.

Yes, the water effects need to be back, in IT it was easy 'cause the water is flat and transparent, now with reflective water things get a bit tricky, i'll need to think a bit.
As for realtime editing of terrain height, for now i'm clueless how to do it LOL but ogre has such a plugin, i might look into it.

Dont know if there is weather yet. I wasnt online before it went down. But....thunder would be awesome if Mr. Sound Guy shady could conjure some up.

Yeah totally! What there should be, is like thunderclouds, but with like red lightning and stuff. That would be usefull if your making like a hell-ish map. :)

I figured out height maps, but I think it's a tad bit unfair for people who don't have tablets, because opacity and stuff like that is very important. I love all these ideas btw!

Ahem... I like these ideas, really. I'd probably spend all my time jumping into the water and making maps with high ledges above water- because, you know, noobs do that.... *cough*

I thought of two more ideas!
Ability to test portals in Map Maker - I think in map maker we should be able to go through our portals to see if the coordinates are all correct and you don't end up miles away where you wanted to lol.
And.. I forgot the other one xD

These are all interesting, I know in WQ they never really add much, but I think they did add sound effects when walking through water, but thats it. It be nice to see some of these added at least.

A different sound for moving(well, swimming) and just floating would be cool as well. My Charries won't be paddeling so hard when not actually swimming. Swimming would be what we have now, and just floating could be lets say.. calmer.

totally agree! specially with the map making thing, i dont have a programme to use for the height maps(unless i can use sumo paint). gimp wont cooperate with my computer and i dont want to waste my money on photoshop. i like the idea of the water ripples.

=) It really is a little troublesome to create heightmaps using an external tool.. but it might be okay, too. If it's too complicated to create an ingame map-editor in the true sense it won't make the world go down!

i LOVE LOVE LOOOVE your idea on tools in map maker! I fail soooo bad with my height maps and putting them in the right folders and such, and i would be sooooo happy if that was a real option right now xD nice work Teal!!

Great ideas there! I felt numb when jumping in water from a high cliff. It's like you fall onto the ground, just sinking into it XD . I can't wait until I can enjoy water splashing in water... Hey, how about this: You can splash other people! Well... That is bad that someone might start splashing you and never end it. But your opinions are yours :3 .

These are very good ideas, but, there's some problems. It would make FeralHeart possibly run slower, and a lot of this is a real pain in the neck to be able to code and put into the game, it would take a lot of time, time some people like Kovu probably don't have right now. ^^

I haven't played Impressive Title but I've seen videos on youtube and I agree with the idea to add things to Feral Heart. :)

Agreed! It would be so awesome being able to splash around. And the map thing? Great too! I've never made a heightmap, but I'm afraid to try. XD
