Characters / Re: Character Interviews
« on: February 21, 2017, 05:28:28 pm »
I'm going to sneak into the party late~ It just seems like a really cool thread.

What's your name?

Cassani Alanis... Most refer to me as Cass... *Hesitantly, she looks sideways, unsure.* O-or Nani, for those that know me well.

Do you know why you were named that?

There's no particular reason. *In an uncharacteristic maneuver, her voice takes on a sharper edge; it borders on resentment, though not quite.* The Huntresses decided upon it. Alanis refers to the mountains I used to belong to. I used to be a nymph of the Alanis mountain range before.

Are you a boy or a girl?

*Slightly confused, Cass waves her hand in front of your face, checking to see if your vision is ok.* Uh... Girl. I am a nymph. There are no male nymphs, those are called satyrs.

Are you single or taken?

*Her expression darkens and her eyes flick away coldly. Subconsciously Cass crosses her arms and pulls her shoulders back.* Single; I've learned my lesson.

Have any abilities or powers?

*Shaking her head, she relaxes, glad the next question is easier to answer.* No-- I don't age and cannot become ill. But that's all part of being a nymph.

Stop being a mary-sue

Who? *She looks confused again.* My name is Cassani? I'm a nymph, not a Mary-Sue...

Uh...if you were to get in a fight with a strong wrestler, do you think you'd win?

*Shifting on her feet, Cass looks off to the side in thought.* I guess it all depends. Without weapons? I'm strong, but it's not likely. With weapons, and maybe the use of my surroundings, it seems reasonable that I would.

Riiiight... Have any family members?

*Cass shakes her head, a bit sourly.* None that I consider family either.

Oh? How about pets?

No.

Cool, I guess. Tell me something that you don't like.

*She tilts her head, her mouth twisting into a smile. A sound similar to a laugh escapes her.* Besides from Artemis, the Huntresses, and the Greek Gods? Being surrounded, it scares me. Oh, and ghosts. *Cass shakes her head.* You can't fight ghosts like a normal monster.

Something that you do like?

*Clasping her hands together, Cass nods excitably, almost like a child.* The hunt, that feeling of conquering a challenge, and knowing the land like nobody else.

Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?

Hunting! And adventuring... I spend most of my time doing that.

Have you ever hurt anyone in anyway before?

*Cass's excitement fades slightly; insecurity aligns her surprised eyes. The quick transition from what makes her happy to the uncomfortable seems to be making her weary.* Yes. But, I hadn't meant to! *Her usually low voice takes a higher tone, traces of uncertainty apparent.*

Ever...killed anyone before?

*Slightly closing off, Cass seems to be overthinking things.* I have.

What kind of animal are you?

Nymph... Not really an animal, more of a spirit. *Suspicious and wary of the questions now, her eyes shift sideways and she answers rather impersonally.*

Name your worst habits.

*Looking up, Cass tilts her head.* Talking to myself. I'm usually alone... *Insecure, she tries to come up with an excuse.* And I don't mind that! I just don't like feeling lonely.

Do you look up to anyone at all?

Not anymore. *Her answer is short, signaling the next question.*

Gay, straight, or bi?

Pan.

Do you go to school?

School? Like the mortals? *She looks confused.* I've never been. I am literate though. *Hurrying the last part, Cass seems to care genuinely what you think. It's endearing, in a sad, pathetic sort of way.*

Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?

You haven't been paying attention, have you? *Inquisitively, Cass's gaze searches your face. Then, remembering herself, she tries to recover.* I mean, no.

Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?

Fans? It's not likely, considering that I usually just help mortals with any creatures that are threatening them.

What are you most afraid of? I promise I won't laugh.

*Her eyebrows crease; she obviously doesn't believe you.* I'm claustrophobic.

*snicker* Ok, ok. What color is your hair?

*Rolling her eyes, she offers a small smile before answering.* Dark brown.

Eyes?

Dull-ish. They're a dark blue, they sometimes resemble a slate grey.

What do you usually wear? Nothing perverted.

*Automatically, she answers.* Light gear. I like to be able to move quickly when in combat.

Ok. What's your religion?

... *Not knowing how to answer, she absentmindedly traces the tattoos on her wrist.* I don't believe anymore.

Do you wish this quiz is over?

Is it? *Looking up, Cass begins to reach for her bag.*

Well, it's still not over.

*Frowning, her arm retreats to her side.*

Anyways, where do you live?

I'm nomadic. Though I consider Alanis to be my home.

What class are you? (Low class, middle class, high class)

Class? *No longer does she give you any confused looks; she seems to be getting used to the strange questions.* I'm no mortal, and I do not participate in civilization.

How many friends do you have?

*Flatly, Cass answers.* None. Unless you could count the mountains as my friend? *A look of hope crosses her features, and she looks up with wide eyes, set off by a small smile.*

Wow. If you could change anything
what would it be?

*Opening her mouth to respond, Cass closes it again. Her expression becomes distant, as if she's been mulling this question over in her head for a long time now. After a few seconds, Cass looks up.* I don't have an answer to that.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? And I don't want no cheap answer, ya hear?

*Curiously Cass tilts her head.* A million dollars? Is that some type of food or currency?

What is your thoughts on pie?

Pie? It's alright I guess. *Thinking about it, Cass looks far away again. Maybe recalling a memory, from the slight twitch of her lips.* I remember trying some during my time with the Huntresses.

Alright. What's your favorite food?

*Looking away coyly, Cass answers quietly, as if afraid of judgement.* Pineapple with salt.

Favorite drink?

The blood of my enemies. *Cass looks dead serious, until she starts laughing. Now that the questions are less charged, Cass seems less shy and insecure.* Only joking...

What is your favorite place?

*Answering quickly, Cass seems sure of it.* Alanis Mountains.

Least favorite?

Mount Olympus.

Are you still wanting the quiz to end?

Bye, I hope never to see you again. *Gratefully, Cass takes this as her chance. Grabbing her backpack she hurries off into the forest surrounding their chosen interview area, an ancient ruin.*

Yeah. Well, it's over.

*Cass's already left.*

Characters / Re: Cassani Alanis (Yes, That's a Name)

This was a beautiful read! One of the best developed characters I've ever seen. Seriously though, you should totally take a career in writing. I think you would get pretty far!!

Not gonna lie, some of these parts even pulled my heartstrings. She's been through so much and honestly I just want to hug her. But she seems like an AMAZING person.

You made my soul hurt in the most delightful of ways. Thank you for the compliment; I really wasn't sure about this character. Sometimes I can be a bit melodramatic... *Awkward pause* Ok, maybe a lot melodramatic. But I swear it's part of my charm.

Anyways, I really appreciate the compliment and feedback. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Characters / Cassani Alanis (Yes, That's a Name)
« on: February 21, 2017, 07:09:03 am »
IN-TRO-DUCING.... *Cue one of those really annoying drum rolls that go on longer than necessary and kill the suspense*
Cassani Alanis

(She's my new baby child)

This was one of my old characters from way way waaaaay back when (Fun for me to say, "Waaaaay baaaaack wheeeeen"), so I wanted to revamp her and bring her back. (Damn Danie-- I'll stop. It's old and stupid... And really, really catchy.) I needed a place to receive constructive criticism and plan out new ideas for characters. I figured, what place better than this? Anyways, just a warning (But not really a warning, cause it's nothing bad... However I forget the word I'm thinking of, so we'll go with warning) this is based off of Greek mythology with a lot of my own conjecture (I love that word) sprinkled in.

Drawn references of character might be drawn later... If I actually feel up to it.

Cassani Alanis

Nicknames: Cass, Nani

Species: Nymph

Gender: Female

Sexual Orientation: Pan (Nani is a nymph, after all)

Birth and Age: Numbers lost to the ages. She joined the hunt so long ago...

Titles: Alanis Mountain Range Nymph (Don't bother searching it up; I made it up :P), Ex-2nd to Artemis, Ex-Member of the Hunt (Not the Wild Hunt, mind you), Fallen from Grace (at least by the Greek Gods)

Relationships:
  • Artemis: Mutual Enemies
  • Greek gods: Extreme disgust towards them, especially Apollo (extreme disgust now makes for a relationship~)
  • The Hunt: Mutual Enemies

Personality: Aloof, reserved, respectful (almost to the point where she seems distant from everyone), inherently shy (she finds it hard to talk to new people), kind and welcoming, naive (despite her experiences), lenient (forgives and forgets easily, and she is just a "chill" person), adventurous (she seems to feed off the energy of the hunt; lives for the adrenaline rush), strong survival instinct, huge risk-taker (will do anything for adrenaline rush), introspective, insecure (this seems to lead to her alienating herself from society), heavily influenced by the Greek gods and the Hunt, adores the outdoors (although she loves the hunt, she takes care not to damage the environment), etc.

Appearance: Dark wavy/curly long brown hair (usually put up), Blue faded eyes (almost seem to look like a slate grey under different lighting), looks to be in her 20s (Nymph's looks apparently don't fade), tanned skin (I mean she spends most of her day outside), calloused hands, lithe but athletic body (what i mean is, when you poke her arm it's actually like rock), rounded cheeks, dimples, various birthmarks, scars and marks over her body (obviously from hunting), slight darkness under her eyes, fairly tall (I'm not about to do exact measurements), usually seen in light gear (relies on ease of movement), sheathed double-edged short-sword at hip, bow and quiver slung around chest and back, tattoos at collarbone and hips and the inside of her wrists (I feel like that should rhyme), etc.

History: She recalls what seemed a short childhood in the range of Alanis running from satyrs and occasionally socializing with other nymphs and spirits. It was there the other nymphs taught her of their culture and chosen religion. Otherwise, she was shielded from mortals and contact with civilization. Artemis chanced upon the girl during one of her trips and welcomed her to the Hunt. For the first time, she was actively cared for like family. She made her way through the ranks until she was considered Artemis' 2nd. But as fate would have it, her bliss wouldn't be forever. To spite his sister, Apollo seduced the naive Cass into breaking her vows. This came as a huge blow to the Huntresses, as she was their 2nd. Immediately regretting her "decision," she ended the pregnancy in it's early stages and came before Artemis knowing her punishment would be great. And so it was, but Cass managed to escape before the worst could befall-- it turned out, she didn't want to die. So she spent centuries running and adventuring on her own (as well as ruminating over her choice) until she was caught and brought before the Gods. As her punishment was debated, she came to a realization. Her strong belief in the Gods, the ones currently debating on how she should die, was gone. No longer could she relate and pray to them. The shackles around her hands broke (much to the surprise of the Gods), and no longer did they hold any power over her, now that her faith had been shattered. Leaving Mount Olympus heavyhearted, she continues to travel alone in search of the unknown.

Other: Some of her personality reflects the mountain range she represents (though most is undeniably hers), claustrophobic, never been to a city, is literate (learned to read and write from Artemis and the maidens of the Hunt), most of her skills were taught to her by the Huntresses, thanks to the Hunt she is no longer bound to her mountains (though she makes a point to visit often), misses the family dynamic she had during her time with the Huntresses, resents Apollo (but mostly herself) for the incident, has a habit of talking to herself (pathetically, I have the same habit too--I blame it on my zodiac), low (almost sultry) voice, etc.

Short Excerpt from Cassani regarding breaking her vows:

"That night was confusing..." Pausing for a a few seconds, Cassani stares down at her feet. Empty words kept her company as Cass sat alone watching the sunrise on her namesake. Searching, her eyes flick to and fro as if the mass amounts of mountain and earth under her would answer all the questions she had. Unfortunately, no response came. It seemed for naught, for Cass looked back up seconds later, dissatisfaction written on the curve of her lip and crease of her brow.

"But what hurt the most was waking up the next day. Having to face what I'd done," Idly shifting from her cross-legged position on the stone and spring grass of the mountain underneath her, Cass's hands twitched and itched for something to do. Listlessly, her dark eyes glanced away again into the distance beyond the breathtaking peaks of her mountain, "You know how some people get when they've lost something. The determination and strength?" Cass's lips twitch in the smallest ghost of a smile, as her fingers begin to trace the ridges of the stone beneath her, "I was the exact opposite."

"I did what was necessary. Only thing that was, that seemed real to me, was the hopelessness in my stomach," Coming back into focus, Cass's eyes were like a photograph, capturing every little vivid detail, "I imagined that's how it would feel like to lose my sanity; your reality becoming like a war you only hear about because it was before you had begun... Outlandish, but deep inside it plagues you to know it's all true."

Huffing slightly, she paused to clutch her nails into her hands before continuing to trace the ground, "Sounds so over dramatic..." Wide eyed, Cass's unblinking eyes followed her hands as they continued to move, albeit more mechanically now, "I had lost the one gift Artemis gives without complaint. Even more, I had betrayed her trust, the trust of the Huntresses."

Slowly creasing again, her eyebrows gave an air of vulnerability to her still face, "I lost the closest thing to a family I ever knew." The vulnerability takes an uncharacteristic resentful turn, Cass's eyebrows set her eyes in a determinate stare, "Over something so trivial." With a new gruff edge, her voice becomes a few shades aggressive. But as if to dispel the anger, her breathing lengthens. For a few minutes, Cass makes no movement. The only sound that fills the crisp morning air are the sounds of the wind caressing the mountains and her lungs. working beneath her rib cage.

"Now that I think about it," Her head rose, dark eyes glancing back at the rising sun as it began to play hide and seek behind the mountain tops, "Everything was so warped and... Misleading? Wrong?" Exhaling loudly, Cass's voice came out chilly, "There's no words to explain it."

"Family shouldn't be built and broken around. Around..." Hardening her expression, knife-like and sharp, Cass's gaze changed as she watched the sun's early rays, "Around one's biology. Now that I think about it, maybe that family was never real at all." Falling, her facial features became one of a falcon without the use of it's wings; righteousness replaced by hopelessness, "If it wasn't real, then what really is?"

Just a brief look into Cass. Not the best; anyone could write better. But at least I tried. Anyways, any suggestions for my character? I'd like to improve her, but without overthinking things. Plus if anyone wants to RP with me; I'd be welcome to it.

~-~-~

P.S. Oh, and just saying, but this is not based off of Percy Jackson. -_- Please don't ask. I came up with a concept for this character that slowly developed as time went on, when I was itty bitty.

Oh hello beautiful child~ Welcome back. I just recently got back on this train too. Everything is so different now, but in a good way. You know, aside from spending an hour trying to figure out where the hell I was (Get it. It's a pun, cause my user is GeminiFromHell).

Hope you enjoy the game and I hope to see ya around.

Forum Discussion / Re: What's YOUR color?
« on: February 16, 2017, 03:13:53 am »
When I post my own topic on different websites and such, sometimes I might change the color and mess around to make it look more interesting. However, I usually leave the colors alone, especially since I'm usually concerned with formatting if the text and if the post is appealing to the viewer. Colors are usually not such a huge focus for me.

But I really used to love orange and green (cantaloupe colors, now that I think about it.) Orange represented the 'shoot-first-ask-questions-later' and reckless side of me (the part that's extremely loud and vibrant), while green would represent a mellower, more serious and introspective side of me. I could never find a color that could fit both sides of my personality (just like I can't really find people who can deal with both sides really well either.)

No color could really describe for a while, so I took to calling my soul black. Cheesy, I know.

Now I particularly like Maroon and teal. Also into shades of off-white or beige... I just like colors. I can't choose now that I think about it.

Game Discussion / Re: How did you stumble across Feral Heart?

How did you stumble across Feral Heart?

Uegh... That was so long ago. I used to play WolfQuest (cringy now that I think about it XD) and somehow I heard of FeralHeart. About a month later, I was dealing with registration and making my own account. That was the first time I signed up.

The second time was actually really recent... Like maybe 2 or 3 days ago. Anyways, I decided to revisit it and found that it had updated. I thought that maybe it had been remodeled (as I come to find out, not really, but still it's fun) and signed up. Luckily I didn't have to wait for millennium to sign up and got in on the first try. I'm crossing my fingers hoping it's a good sign.

What was your input when you first joined?

Fun... But really overbearing. Bonfire Island was really spazzy for me, so I was like, "What have I done..." But I stayed for a while. Unfortunate I was really uber shy, so I didn't make many friends or companions, but I had a small (and I mean small) few who I could count on. My characters never were really colorful; I've always been kinda a realist. So my characters were realistic and detailed; but I think they came out that way cause I read A LOT and was VERY insecure. So, I never really had characters that I've regretted too, too much.

Now, my first time back on was fun. I basically turned off the FH music and played the Witcher 3 soundtrack (which makes everything really edgy, if anyone was curious) over the natural sounds of the maps and ran around exploring the different maps. Plus the people are super friendly; I appreciate that.

What were some rememberable moments? (Friends made, becoming popular, etc.)

Mmkay, one day I came home and literally threw my bags across the room and fell on my bed. I remember I was so so so done. After blasting my music and napping (I can actually nap through loud music, but anything else just bothers me) I got on the computer and started up FH. I just went up to some random (beautiful/amazing/magical) person and we just clicked and randomly started RPing. That person was my spirit animal; I miss them in retrospect.

Thank you peoples. ;D To be quite honest, I didn't think this would be seen by anyone.

AND SPRING... HETALIA.

Ahaha, sorry. I get a bit excited when someone else likes Hetalia. I may or may not fangirl too hard, aha. ^^;; I'm such a weeb.

Welcome to FeralHeart, Gemini!

I LOVE Hetalia! It's great to meet someone who likes it too! And I know I fangirl too hard-- which is not the best, since you can make a reference to Hetalia with virtually anything. Still, amazing to meet you!

Greetings, fellow Hamilton fan! :D Welcome back to Feralheart, you definitely seem pretty interesting!

Hope you enjoy your time here! ^.^

Thank you! You think I'm interesting? I'm going to have to stalk you now, beautiful human~ If we're Hamilton fans, does that make us Hamiltonians? I know that's a belief... But Hamiltonians sounds kind cool.

Welcome, welcome!! c: I found your introduction rather entertaining and pleasing to look at haha Hope to see you in-game, floof!!
I appreciate that! I tried to make it "aesthetically pleasing." I'm glad I succeeded. At first I thought it was a little much  ;D . I hope to see you too, fellow floof!

Introduction / A Gemini From Hell's Arrival
« on: February 12, 2017, 03:40:20 pm »
*Cue the opening theme narrator from Tales From the Darkside.*

"AND IT IS FROM THIS WORLD OF DARKNESS"-- That a new member of the FeralHeart community emerges.
Hello beautiful guppies-- And I just realized it's snowing really heavily outside my window... I'm going to have to clean that later.  :-\ Good thing I like the snow!-- Heh, sorry, got a bit distracted there. I'm the (opposite of) notorious ♊GeminiFromHell♊~ Pleased to make your acquaintance. *Le bow... Or should it be a curtsy?* I wanted to create a new topic to introduce myself, just cause I wanted to get off to a good start on FH. (I believe that good beginnings are important  :P ) I used to have another account on FH, however, I was uber uber super duper super shy and so insecure that it was not even funny. Since then, my personality has rotated 180 degrees (If it was 360 degrees I'd end up where I started. ;D Just a quick lesson for you beautiful ingrates~) I love meeting new peeps, so don't be afraid to randomly follow or message. Plus, chances are that I'll answer back too. I have to warn you though, my AP classes are eating at my nonexistant soul (not forgetting to mention my crippling bouts of depression ;D ). So I might not be really uber active, but I'll try to be on. Just wanted to warn you, because I know it's not fair if I'm RPing with someone and I just don't reply for a few days.

Um... I love RPING~ Tell me about any RP and I'll join without thinking. If you would like to RP, message me. Just here are some things you should know...
- I'm not into romance or ships. I'll write about it sure, just with RP... I can't; I have too many expectations.
- I won't RP other people's characters. I didn't create the character so I couldn't possibly portray them realistically.
- I can't be on a lot. So remind me to be on. I have a lot of tests and studying to do for my classes, so something fun to do is welcome.
- I RP in 3rd person. And usually, I RP huge ass paragraphs.

HAMILTON! HAMILTON! HAMILTON! Ever since my friend first introduced this to me and I actually listened to the soundtrack, I've been obsessed. And with my huge love for hip hop, all the references is the closest thing to God that I've ever felt. (I'm an athiest, if you couldn't tell.)

I watch some shows on and off and would love some suggestions. Also I love music, so suggestions are appreciated. I listen to everything, (well, most everything) so don't feel apprehensive about suggestions.

Shows that I watch...
- Game of Thrones (Hold door.)
- Walking Dead
- A bunch of horrible British comedies that only I find amusing~
- Spanish novellas (XD Call to my roots-- I'm half Dominican and half Polish)
- Vikings
- NCIS
- Hetalia
- Roots
- Hell on Wheels (Norwegians = Swedes)
- Snap Judgement (This is actually a radio show... But still a mind opening show.)
- Sons of Anarchy
- Boondocks (My fecking heart and soul, niglet.)
- Salem
- iZombie

I make a lot of bad puns and jokes about suicide. I'll try not to do that here.  :P

I really, really, really love tea. It's my favorite drink. Coffee can't compare. Try me.

A quick description of me from my family... Enjoy!
- Loud
- Revolutionary
- Grumpy
- Confused
- Ajole
- A mix of stupid and smart

Did I mention I'm a band nerd? But I actually hate all the band peeps from my current school. They're so tight knit and annoying.
