dA community's concept on "art"

I find this funny, only because I go on dA a little more on average than FH's forum and I don't see any web camera porn. 

I see artistic photographs of naked women and men, paintings and drawings of the same type and etc, but not what you're describing. Regardless, nudity requires a warning.  You might have to change your settings?

I have a very broad term of art.  If it's beautiful or if it means something it's art. So, technically, a naked woman posing in front of a camera would be art to me, as long as the photos aren't grainy, or obviously worthless. On the same topic, some "porn" can be considered art because it is still photography, drawing, writing, filming, etc.  It still requires effort and the creator still takes at least some meaning in it, or a sense of emotion. (Under that definition, though, I guess murder could be an art >.>')

Oh well. Don't go on dA if you don't like it.

I never said I thought it was ALL porn and I never said I dont like dA nor was I hinting at anything like that. I respect your opinion though. Im not filtering it because I understand some of it is actually IS art.

Im starting to get comments like "I dont see what your talking about" and I understand. It must be the times Im logging on randomly. I have seen some pictures that clearly had no thought in it. What Im trying
 to say here is that in my opinion, standing in front of a camera and looking sexy is not art. At least put some thought and purpose behind it.
And I feel like I should point this out. Im not complaining, and Im not raging about how horrible of a site dA is. So dont attack me people. Not that Im accusing anyone. Just pointing it out before someone rage fits on me. >.>

Oh, that's fine then.  I mostly agree, that standing in front of a camera and looking sexy isn't art--most of the times. There's people who make it look beautiful.  But really, I have never had that problem.  I do see what you're saying.  I actually don't like some things that are on dA (aka, really bad attempts at drawing and stuff, but I just avoid that.  Besides, that's an artist's starting point) and other things, but you can't win 'em all. :>

Thankfully, I've never seen one of them. It has been a while since I've been on dA's front page, say like... a year. But if it's enough to be a clearly visable problem, I believe dA should really inforce people with the ability to place the 'mature' warning on their artwork.. =p
