When she was born, she wasn't blind like she is now. She had dark blue eyes like her brother, CrowLight. Her mother, MoonFur, was very protective to her and loved her very much. Her father, not so much. He always payed attention to her brother, CrowLight and trained him hard to became just like him when his real mentor wasn't around. Her father was the leader of another clan. He was part of FireClan, and they were part of WaterClan. The first day of becoming a warrior apprentice, she was blinded and then chosen to became a medicine cat apprentice because a blind warrior would be useless, weak, and defenseless. At the time, their training hallow was destroyed and they had to find a new one. She was the first one to find a perfect training hallow that was close to camp and away from other clan's territory. It was a large clearing with a large oak tree in the middle, providing shade with a pool next to it. After her mentor and the medicine cat, JayFeather died, she became the next medicine cat named JayShade for the shade the tree provided. She is currently still alive, and very healthy and young. She is no longer a helpless kit or apprentice, but a very fine medicine cat.

She is very good memory of the scents to each herb and she knows the use for every herb that a medicine cat needs. She also can only see in her dreams, like JayFeather, and can walk in with StarClan to speak to them.
