Okay, this thread says I can't leave forum alone for TEN MINUTES. Excellent.

It looks like There's only one person who can solve it.

Raz.

what would raz do to fix this? just shut everything down like he's done before?

Why should we turn to authority when many who he's put in a position of power are abusing that power.
(Ex, "soft" doxxing, unjust removal and punching-down of criticism)
How can you possibly trust him to handle this?

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Change weight slider- add more chunk!
« on: July 11, 2020, 05:15:02 am »
I think it'd be really neat if instead of just making legs wider, chests deeper, and necks thicker, if we could have the weight slider make characters look chubbier! my suggestion mostly pertains to the wolf model, since the difference is more drastic imo when you move the weight slider compared to felines.

(a muscle slider sounds like a good idea to include for the beefy characters out there, but that's another topic I suppose)

Anyway i'm mostly thinking about the belly. All characters, no matter where the weight slider is, have a tucked, cinched waist. Not that there's anything wrong with that look, of course, but it's possible to make scrawny characters, so I think making chubby characters should be available too. :)

i mean, looking at the models, and turning up the slider the canine model looks more fluffy, and the feline model looks more "natural," like the default and lowest weight look like small cat breeds, and the higher weight slider looks more like an average large cat.

idk how easy it is to make there be more pudge, or if any mods could be made at the very least, but as a chunky person myself, I think this is a topic worth talking about!!

Here's a progression from lowest weight, to default, to highest, and to my modified doodle. There's really very little change from the default to the largest setting, I kept retaking and naming my screenshots just to be sure I wasn't messing them up!

That happened to me last week. After a few attempts, I decided to just try again later and the problem was gone. Nothing seemed to cause it, and nothing specific seemed to make it go away.

I know this isn't helpful, but I wish you good luck. There's a chance it'll sort itself out

Game Help / Re: Map maker crashes often (Mac)
« on: January 08, 2020, 01:16:16 am »
I'm not familiar with Macs but I've done a bit of searching around and this is what I've found.

Anyhoo, even though 'tis not required to use GIMP or Photoshop to make these map files, 'tis required to make the heightmap in grayscale form. Another reason why y'er files may not be working is that ye sent the exported files to a "random folder". x'D Send those files to the terrains folder found in (FeralHeart<media<terrains).

Make sure you have the heightmap image saved in your map's folder, located in your Terrains folder. When typing it make sure you type in the exact name of the heightmap image including the .png format.

The reason you're probably crashing in Ficho and Zama is because they're very detailed maps, and your Mac may not be able to handle that, so it crashes. I heard that turning off your music can also reduce your chances of crashing, but I don't know if this is a proven fact.

I went to check, and I've already got my Music, GUI, and Effects at zero :/
I've made maps (on my pc, when I had one), so I'm like, 80% sure it's a fault in my Mac, just being unable to handle details. Which sucks, but eh, that's what I get for using a mac.  :-X

Edit: On my pc, I was able to put height maps in the terrains folder. I put the height map in the map's folder, like suggested, and it loaded! Thank you :)

Game Help / Map maker crashes often (Mac)
« on: January 07, 2020, 04:59:35 pm »
FH crashes when I load height maps, certain objects (not even added-in objects, just default objects)

Also crashes with in-game maps, such as ficho & Zama grotto

I don't know if there's anything I can do to optimize how it runs. I've already got view distance down & water reflection off.

If there's any Mac settings or FH settings I can alter, please let me know!

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Updated Hyena Ears
« on: October 21, 2019, 09:30:43 pm »
I know realism isn't the point of FH, but I think it'd be neat to have more accurate hyena ears.
(I hope I don't seem too nit-picky)

(edit: when the size slider is at max, it looks WAY more natural, so it's not too different. in the photo, everything is set at default.)

Maybe just tilting the in-game hyena ears a bit inwards would work?

Thoughts on an "Other Hyenas" set?

Striped, brown, and aardwolf hyenas have sharp, angular, almost trapezoidal ears. "Sharp" ears are close, but far too triangular. "Pitbull" ears look too small, even at max size.

(note: hyena photos are sourced from wikipedia)
