Perception

Perception lay on the dry mud, which was recently slushy and wet from a downpour of rain. Everything was so quiet...so peaceful. Piecing morning ray's is the reason the German Shephard awoke from a long, good night's slumber. The location of Perception's resting place was outside of a very old, decaying building. The brickwork was falling off and the light yellow paint was all gone, except for the odd spot. This place had no windows, but instead, had chicken wire covering the places where glass should be. It was not stable or safe, but Perceptions current job was to warn off any approaching people, for example, Nazi's.

The six year old brute raised his head, which he had rested on his paws for his sleeping position. He stuck his nose in the air and inhaled the crisp morning breeze. Scent's of flowers, grass blades and coffee filled his senses, but no unnatural activity registered. Perception yawned loudly, arose from his sleeping place and stretched out his limbs slowly, quickly shaking himself from the floors debris afterwards.

In the decaying house was muttering and the familiar voice of Harold, his master that he ached dearly to see, but his instructions where strict to stay outside at all costs. Perceptions instructions, of course, were difficult to understand for a dog, but the male Shephard was accustom to watching his master's body language and listening to his tone of voice. Perception was quick to respond and sat outside, watching, waiting into the night until he was let off his guard by Harold and was told to go to sleep.

After a couple of minuets of Perception pacing, Harold exit the house, along with three other men, all of which were carrying snipers on their backs. "Good lad, Perce" Harold whispered into Perception's ear. The dog was overjoyed to see his master, but was determined to stay professional, so snorted and licked his masters hand. "Get on the radio. Tell the General no seen threat's, position four of four cleared." Harold instructed to one of the men, whom nodded whilst he took a large bag off one of the other man's shoulder and unpacked it to reveal a large black box with an aerial, undoubtedly the radio. He laid it on the bone dry ground and began to talk into a hand held device attached to the box. A static voice replied after him. "General understood," The man operating the box said, placing it back into the bag. "Okay. Now, moving back to camp, men. Let's go." Instructed Harold to the other men and Perception. The dog had estimated, on his way here, that it was a one hour trek trough a forest to reach their destination. As Perception walked on at his masters side, breakfast came to mind, and his stomach grumbled rapidly as they began the long walk home.

(Confusing? Let me just run you through it, because I could not find a suitable place to insert this into the post. Perception, Harold and many other people where instructed by The General (The highest possible rank who serves at another base,) to camp at four post's surrounding a village to protect it from a tip off about a threat. You may join in this mission if you wish at another post around the village. I thought it was a good starter point for those who are not sure what to do with their character's in the force. Sometimes waking up and sitting back down again is not the most interesting start to post's.)

[[-Casually joins in on said mission-

"I beg to dream & differ from the hollow lies."
Omaha

The Belgian Malinois sat tall, surveillant ears erect atop his skull as always. At his back were the remains of what used to be a nice little brick and concrete house, now reduced to half of a crumbling wall from the constant mortar fire. At his front was a cracked road connecting to an adjacent stone bridge. This area would have been quite a lovely place, pre-war. Not too close to the city, not too secluded. Omaha gave his slim head a shake to rid himself of those distracting thoughts, and refocused on his objective. Blinking, he turned and stalked towards his partner, Lieutenant Parks- who sat, back against the old crumbling wall, along with three other soldiers- all of them clutching their weapons, and preparing to venture into the vast rubble remains of the house to sweep it for any opposing forces who might be hiding there.

"On your guard." Lieutenant Parks whispered to his accompanying soldiers before nodding his helmet-protected head at the Malinois standing before him, then gesturing the company onward with a brief movement of his hand. Quickly picking up the signal, Omaha started forward first. It was his duty to trek somewhat ahead of the company because his keen nose and ears could pick up the signs of an enemy or explosive far quicker than his human counterparts.

Each pawstep made a crackling noise as it was set down upon the collapsed concrete heaps. Behind the canine, the four soldiers crept at a crouch, always scanning the area. Omaha continued to cautiously climb the pile of crumbling debris, all the while his nostrils quivering and ears flicking at the slightest sounds. The faint sound of the radio attached to the backpack of one soldier made the Belgian Malinois freeze. The soldier quickly answered it. "It's the other team- position four is clear." The man announced at a hushed whisper to his commanding officer, who responded with a nod then refocused. Shaking his head, Omaha carried on, picking each paw up high as he climbed up the concrete rubble. Suddenly, a crackling sound made the large dog freeze again- his muscles tense and tail held rigid and vertical. That wasn't the sound of his or his company's footsteps- it came from the other side of the rubble hill.

The stiff motion Omaha held was a silent signal to his company there was trouble, and they immediately- yet silently- found cover. Out of nowhere, a German soldier popped up from behind his own cover and instantly opened fire upon the regime. With a snarl, Omaha clambered aside to get out of the rain of bullets, then launched himself forward, tackling the enemy soldier to the ground from the side. As the two struggled, Omaha's company returned fire at the few other foes who had shown themselves. The soldier with the radio slumped down behind his concrete slab cover and snatched the receiver from the radio itself "We got trouble at position three. The Krauts have us overwhelmed, here. We need backup, I repeat, backup requested." The man shouted above the fire of bullets.

[[Btw, I wish no offense upon anyone of German origin by the use of the term "Kraut"- 'tis simply slang that the Americans used to refer to the German soldiers in WWII.

"An obstacle can be a tiny pebble or a huge mountain. You decide."

Night and her owner were with 3 other men. They stood in front of a large, crumbly building. Then James motioned inside and they give others followed. Night looked around. It was a dark two room building with and upstairs. The four men investigated and searched the building. Night sniffed at the first stair board. She tried to remove it but her lack of thumbs made it hard. One of the men was about to step on the stair, but Night leaped in front of him. The man looked at her in confusion. Night pawed at the board. The other four soldiers gathered as the man lifted the board. Everyone leapt back in horror. A bomb was ticking in the space. James leapt forward and hit the voice command button, "Deactivate!" The bomb beeped a few times then shut off. James got on his radio and buzzed the main camp, "We found a bomb in section 1 of 4. Code: Baker Option Mike Baker."

(Military alphabet much?)

"Why die when we can live?"

Aztec

Aztec, woke up from a dream and yawned.
His teeth seemed to show up to anyone who looked at him.
He stood up and stretched his body.
His silver pelt bursted from sides while he stretched.
Soon standing tall, he walked out of the hunter's den and walked towards the nursery.
Soon entering in, he looked at his mate and spoke up.
"Good morning Luna!" He spoke up with a smile before he sat down, awaiting for her responce.

"Do we really have to fight?"

Luna

The female yawned as she woke up.
Soon yawing, she heard a voice in the distance.
Looking at the way, she noticed Aztec, her particulary mate.
Smiling, she answered back.
"Good morning Aztec!" She gave a smile back to her mate that now was sitting down.
